Full-timers’ winter break and a canine reunion

The Best Little Trailer and palo verde at sunset, Midland LTVA, Blythe, California

We have arrived!

After all these many months of writing on a delay of weeks, this blog has finally arrived at the present time.  See the date in big orange print above the photo and the date further up in small gray print?

They match!

I had to cheat a little to make this happen. I skipped over the past two weeks of our camp here at Midland LTVA . Not that nothing happened during those two week, but we have slowed down since the 2017 spring-summer-fall quest for fun and new places has come to a close.

Winter is our time of rest.

I’ll summarize.  Before I do that, about the photos . . . .  Reggie and Roger have a friend who visits our camp almost every day!  His camp is our nearest neighbor.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you may recognize him.  Reggie met him last March.

Okay, well, we arrived at Midland LTVA on Sunday, November 5th.

That’s the day Daylight Savings Time ended, a fitting beginning for our winter break.

I set up camp far from the road, by ourselves, next to a small wash and a palo verde. The weather has been warm — highs in the 80s, lows in the 40s and 50s.  This is just what I need after freezing my buttsky in Utah last month. I think Reggie and Roger need it, too, judging by the way they loll in the sun, deliriously content.

Muscles relaxed, bellies exposed.

One night we had a dust storm (just for fun) and then went back to balmy-to-hot days, calm and sometimes breezy, although today is cool and windy.

Early this morning I woke up to the clang and clatter of stuff being blown off the outside table.

The beauty of boondocking:

So what if my stuff is scattered all over. No one is around to see it or to care. I’ll chase it down in the morning.

(Roll over, go back to sleep.)

I paid $180 for the LTVA permit.

That sets us up for a few months since the permit is good until April 15. We won’t stay the entire time. Enough to make the permit a good deal. We could pay $40 for two weeks, rinse and repeat.

There’s a nice feeling though, knowing we have a plot of ground of  “our own” stretching out before us.

The boys and I covered a lot of territory this past year, hopscotching to northwestern Montana and back.

(Gosh, another great year has gone by .)

I meet the new camp host at Midland LTVA.

His name is Byron (love that name!) and he’s a jolly fellow.  Like most camp hosts, he’s very helpful. We had a good conversation.  Being fulltimers, our talk went to the subject of our travels and free camps. Byron shared information about his boondocks near Wahlsenberg, Colorado.  He even drew me a map!

Nice guy.

A big event during the past few weeks was having the heater installed and the 12-volt system fixed, as well as the fan on the fridge.

As for waxing the BLT, I’ve lost my ambition. That job is only about one-third done. I’ll get to it eventually.  (Eventually — a well-used word of any procrastinator!)

I did tear apart the interior of the BLT in a massive tornado of cleaning. This was followed by major sorting and reorganizing of the cabinets, something I’ve found I need to do at least once a year.

Let’s see, what else have we done . . . .

Mostly we drift through the days, go on long walks, buzz into town to shop, hit the laundry, browse the library.  We relax in our outdoor room. I read.  We nap.

Have you identified the pup yet?

That’s Skeeter! Reggie and I met him and his owner last March, here at Midland.

See more of Skeeter and that camp at:  “Reggie and his look-alike pal.”

Can you believe?

Only three more weeks until Christmas!  Are you beginning to feel the holiday spirit?

85 Responses to Full-timers’ winter break and a canine reunion

  1. Reine in Plano (when not camping) says:

How fun. Glad to see you relaxing and enjoying life. Christmas is coming and we’re getting presents for the grandkids purchased. It’s been really warm for this time of year here in north Texas but cold weather is coming tonight. We can have fire tomorrow night and “chill out”.

  2. Kristi & Rozco (Nampa, ID) says:

Loving watching the pups play. My Rozco goes to doggie daycare and they have a webcam that I can peek in on through out the day. Gives me a nice moment to relax and watch them do their carefree thing. Wish I had your view though!

    • Beverly says:

This cracks me up (I’m easily entertained)! I read the blog and there is one comment so I comment and when I post, it’s like sperm racing to the finish line. Have a great winter, Sue. Love your fur babies!

      • rvsueandcrew says:

Oh, Beverly! I’m laughing so hard I’m going to crack a rib!

      • Cynthia from San Clemente says:

Bev, you cracked me up too. Years ago, when I was unable to get pregnant and we visited a fertility expert, he told my husband that his sperm were swimming backwards and were never going to make it to that egg! (Sue, if this is too graphic, please feel free to delete). We’ve had many a laugh over that comment over the years!

  3. Deena in Phoenix says:

You captured the BIG full moon. Nice photo. I remember Delbert and Skeeter…didn’t he have other dogs, guess I’ll check the past link…Glad you are in the “present mode”, hope it makes it easier on you. Gotta go, breathing treatment and followup; will check back later for the rest of the blogorinos notes.

    Take Care

  4. Pat in Rochester says:

Hurray for winter digs that come without snow! The weather reports around here are full of dire reports about a winter storm arriving this week. So I will continue to live vicariously through your posts!

  5. Pam Ridgely says:

Always love seeing photos of your fur babies and play. They play like my “chi-weenie” and black lab. Rough house……the black lab will lay down low so the little dog can get the “best of him” occasionally, but when they chase each other, the smaller dog usually gets rolled by the lab.

    Have a wonderful Christmas.

  6. Dawn in NC says:

Ah Sue…I was reading comments from the last post when you snuck this new one in on me without my noticing! I love the pictures of the dogs having a good time! I also love your attitude to the wind blowing your camp around at night. Meh, I’ll get to it in the morning. I am getting excited for Christmas this year. I have a lot of work to do before I can take a vacation. Love your blog and that you are living your dreams. I live in a two bedroom, smaller size townhouse. Yet, I still think about going smaller. It’s funny, because my family thinks I am crazy for wanting smaller. Haven’t told them about selling it all to go boondocking when I retire! Can’t wait to hear their response to that. Thanks so much for being such a great example and for sharing your lives with us!

  7. Kathy from MI (Tucson for the holiday) says:

I look forward to your postings !! We came south to Tucson for a short time before back to MI winters. I think it is time to start looking for warmer winters — and that might take years to accomplish. In the meantime, following your travels keeps me sane. I wish our dog was friendly with other dogs. she was rescued but we had no idea she would be so dog aggressive. Every time i see yours playing well with others, I have to sigh. Tried three trainers/dog clubs but they say she is just not able to be around other dogs. Hope you have a wonderful warm holiday and continue with the good luck at LTVA.

  8. Joe in TN says:

I was up early today to take a picture of the SuperMoon before it went below the horizon. Our view wasn’t as nice as yours, but that moon was still pretty special. Hope the coyotes didn’t keep you up howling at it. So glad your boys have a playmate. I agree that waxing is not something you want to rush into…

  9. Gene in Ohio says:

Typo: Daylight Saving Time ended, not started on Nov 5th.

    • rvsueandcrew says:

You’re right, Dave. But not a typo, rather a brain not in gear. Thanks for letting me know. I fixed it.

      • Gene in Ohio says:

I am not Dave, I am Gene. Brain still out for repairs?

        • rvsueandcrew says:

Apparently so. Haha! Sorry, Gene. In my defense, on my admin page, when I enlarge the font so I can read more easily, the name goes off screen when I open my reply box. Remembering to whom I am writing is too much for my memory to handle.

Hey, both names are four letters and the last letter is the same! 🙂

  10. Kevin in CO says:

Nice to read that you are settled for the winter. I was looking at the 180$ permit, says CA and AZ on it. Does that mean you can use the same permit for the LTVAs in other locations like Q and down by Yuma?

    • rvsueandcrew says:

Yes, you can, Kevin. You can move around and stay however long you want in any of the places, during that time period.

Oops, gotta’ go… Skeeter is at the door and the boys are going nuts!

  11. Barb from Hoquiam! says:

Hi Sue! What a great bargain for the ability to ‘land’ if you want…

We have just celebrated our anniversary… into our 24th year now. We both had nearly 20 yr marriages before this one, so we are feelin’ OLD. Don’t NEED anything, so we chose to do what we needed. Haul that carpet out of the downstairs of our house! 🙂 Dining room is complete, other than the half round for the edging, and it is faaaaaaaaaaaar from perfect (how the heck did that obvious burn mark happen in the very center of the room? What is the story behind this huge dark space…??? 😛 Who knows…). Living room comes next. It is beautiful, and funny and very very imperfect. Just my style.
I cannot recall if I mentioned that we lost our Kali girl a couple of weeks ago. She lost all of her faculties and abilities and aspirated into her lungs… it was horrid. We took off for a great Thanksgiving trip with family and came home and just ’empty’. We still have our Racy but wow is he lonesome. Our cat–Amelia the Wonder Cat is NOT happy with us at all. We had a house sitter and well… she does not grasp that there are other people on the planet (great for the ego–but she has a new hiding hole which is not easy to cope with 🙂 She has found a way to get up into the original roof area of the house (house is 114 yrs old and been added on to a couple of times). Wow does she come out FILTHY!

Always a little seated vacation to get to read when I see your blog in my in box. Thank you for all you share.
    Hugs from Hoquiam!

    • AZ Jim says:

Sorry Barb to hear of your losing Kali. She’ll be a happy girl while playing with new friends and waiting for you a Rainbow Bridge.

    • rvsueandcrew says:

I’m so sorry for your loss, Barb. At first I was going to write, I’m so sorry about Kali, but I changed that because Kali is not suffering, YOU are. I’m glad you come here and let us share in the ups-and-downs of your life. I think it helps us to know that we aren’t alone in our sorrows.

Hugs to you and Racy. . . and to your very independent Amelia!

    • Denise - Richmond VA says:

      Happy Anniversary, Barb! 🙂

I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved Kali.

      • Barb from Hoquiam! says:

Thank you all. I appreciate your thoughts so much. It is funny, I see the joy in your pups Sue, and it just oozes through the page… Truly such a gift. 🙂

    • Krystina says:

      Sorry for your loss Barb!

    • Cynthia from San Clemente says:

Barb, sorry to read about you losing your Kali. The holidays are an especially difficult time of year to lose a beloved pet I think, because you are reminded of it each year when the holidays roll around again. Tomorrow is the 4th anniversary of my wonderful Wheaten Terrier, Boz, passing away and I still think about him everyday.

    • mostylost says:

So sorry to hear about you losing Kali. I know how tough it is to love a fur baby, especially during the holidays! Sending you a virtual hug!!

  12. I’m glad you and the crew are enjoying your time at the LTVA. I’m sure it is nice to relax after the summertime travel.
I am getting ready for Christmas. I will be flying off to Dallas on the 14th from Tucson, AZ and returning on the 4th of January. After that hopefully heading off to the desert for some almost free camping.

  13. Jean in Southaven says:

Great to get a new post. I know I am not first, but I did get this post early. So glad you are where you are going to be comfortable for awhile. I like it there. I hope the weather stays perfect all winter for you.

  14. Those Pups all look like they could be from the same Litter 🐾🐾🐾 Sue, yep , we visited you there last fall or was it Winter or early Spring, huh? Now where did that Memory go mmm,,,,, great post and photography,, have a great week and give the Boys a huge hug from us, ok,,,,, 🐾👣👣

  15. Anna from NC says:

Second what Barb said…..we get a little ‘vacation’ reading about your travels and boon docking.
Nice that we have caught up with you! Looks like you and the boys are having a restful, wonderful stay.
Always, always love seeing your photos and reading about your boys and their friends and adventures!
Have a wonderful December. It is already going by too fast for me!!

  16. Becky in NJ says:

What a pack of little white dogs!
Does Roger get along with Skeeter? (Of course Reggie gets along with everyone!)

  17. Virginia620 AL says:

Girl, I needed an RVSue & Crew fix today.

I had a blowout on driver’s front tire Tuesday on the way to my daughter’s. No damage to anything. Thank goodness for AAA Plus RV road service. Dodge dealership in Birmingham was not able to obtain my truck tire before I headed back to Mobile. Tire on back order for their warehouse.

So, I stopped at the 1st rest stop after leaving to chk the air pressure in the spare truck tire. All was good. However, a kind 18-wheel driver next to me says: ma’am, you have a flat on your RV.

YIKES!! Another wait for AAA to come help. So now I’m driving a truck, with no spare, pulling a 5th wheel, with no spare. Nerve wracking. My 4-hr trip took 7 hours.

I got the RV backed into my storage area of Meaher State Park, an adorable little park on Mobile Bay, and checking everything out before heading to the house and heard a different tire losing air. Since it was sunset I just went home and came back this morning and it was flatter than a pancake. The first flat was a loose valve stem
I’m hoping for the same on this 2nd flat. I’m sitting at the park waiting for AAA to come exchange the fixed 1st tire with the spare, and exchange the pancake tire with the spare.

I could write a book. Me thinks dear hubby up there just laughing at all my misadventures. But I got the 1st Thanksgiving and 1st RV trip under my belt.
All’s good because I’ve got RVSue & Crew to keep me entertained.

NOW I’ll go back and read the post and view the gorgeous pictures. Y’all take care and keep smiling. 😉

    • Virginia620 AL says:

And I love the 100% Cotton Vintage Nightgown. Also wondering if the Big Red Rooster Sound machine crows.
If you see an Insta Pot in your lists, last week around the 24th, 25th, that’s my Christmas present to me. 😉. Supposed to be delivered Wednesday. Excited.

      • rvsueandcrew says:

I saw the Insta Pot, Virginia. Thank you! A couple people have ordered them. Also a steamer basket for the Insta-Pot and a cookbook. I’m glad you’re treating yourself well. You deserve a great Christmas present. 🙂

      • rvsueandcrew says:

Oh yeah, the Big Red Rooster has 6 different crows. 🙂

        • Linda Sand (Minnesota) says:

I have an RV friend who recently moved to Mexico. A neighbor’s rooster kept waking her every morning. It turned out to be that alarm clock!

    • rvsueandcrew says:

Oh, no, Virginia! I’m so sorry you went through all that. Well, now you’re “initiated.” Smooth sailing from now on! 🙂

Thanks for writing. When we share our stories of the road, it helps others, I’m sure.

  18. I bet it is a great feeling to be caught up to real time! Love the first photo of the BLT and sunset over the mountains. I’ve been considering getting the $180 permit when I get to AZ. Looks like it will be end of December so have to see.

I’m still in FL enjoying my visit with my family. One of my sisters lives in the country so I am parked at her house. Have 120 electric hookup and can fill my water tank if needed. I have also been able to do some projects while I have been here and have access to tools, and help if needed 😀. Built some shelves in the back of my truck so I could get better organized.

Also just placed an order on amazon thru your links for a few things, including a tv wall mount. I have had the tv sitting on the counter and it’s really in the way. So hoping this mount works out.

Hope you have a relaxing winter in the desert!

    • rvsueandcrew says:

      Hi, Debra,

If you come to an LTVA at the end of December, remember that the $180 permit might be more than you’ll need. Four of the $40 permits ($160) will give you 8 weeks, to the end of February.

I’ll take a look for the tv wall mount….

      LATER….. I see it! Thanks a bunch! 🙂

      • Linda Sand (Minnesota) says:

And either permit gives you free access to the dump, fill and trash bins at La Posa South LTVA at Quartzsite, AZ.

        • rvsueandcrew says:

Also the dump station and trash bins at Midland LTVA. I think also at Senator Wash. Maybe someone will confirm that the facilities are there also.

          • Lou Schneider says:

Yes, Senator Wash has water/dump/trash. The Pilot Knob LTVA that’s closest to the Algodones dentists and pharmacies only offers trash dumpsters but water and dump are available at the gas station at it’s entrance for a fee.

      • That’s what I’m thinking also. And since this will be my first winter there I may want to go to some other places. So will probably do the 2 weeks at a time as you suggested if I camp at an LTVA.

Your welcome! I always click thru your link when I order but I always wonder if you really get the credit.

Oh BTW, I recently installed 1 Blocker on my iPhone and iPad. When I tried to post a comment the arithmetic box didn’t appear. I had to go into 1 Blocker and whitelist your url. Thought I’d mention it in case anyone else had the same problem.

      • Lou Schneider says:

Or if you want to stretch things even further, but one of the $40 2 week passes, then on the last day dump, fill and take out the trash. Relocate to one of the several 14 day free areas around Quartzsite for a week or two before returning to the LTVA and repeating the cycle.

The free 14 day areas are almost the same as the LTVAs, except they don’t offer access to water, dump and trash services. And you can only stay for 14 days out of 28, which dovetails nicely with the 2 week LTVA passes.

        • Thanks for the additional details on the LTVA areas. Since I’ll be arriving so late in the winter I most likely will boondock a good part of the time. I am way over my monthly budget for campground fees so far this year and also gas with all the miles I have driven this year with the cross country trip. So I will need to economize the next few months.

  19. Geri in the FL panhandle! says:

Oh my goodness to poor Virginia 620! All those flat tires at once! YIKES! Hope things go better for you!
Sue, it was fun reading back to last year when Reggie first met Skeeter! You were wishing then that Reggie needed a full-time pal to play with! Well, that prayer was answered and Reggie and Roger are perfect together!
So glad to read you got all your repairs done and are now up to real time! YAY!
Chuck played Santa again last night. As soon as the pictures are available, I will send you one!
Radar is snoozing on my lap, chasing those dream rabbits! Hahaha!
Glad you are settled for a few months!
Rest, relax and play with the boys!

  20. Lauri says:

Those three are ADORABLE!!!! That is the greatest size for a dog,!…(I have the same in a tan female!… one out of SIX!’ Enjoy your rest!
    Lauri

  21. Dawn in Asheville...err, Ehrenberg says:

Hahah – looks just like where I am – my pictures are starting to look like RV Sues – ROFLOL. I think I know that dust storm you speak of. Eight RVs came in that night, cresting the hill, trundling and rumbling in the wind, headlights creating an eerie glow – was very cool looking. Windy and chilly today – I’ve stayed inside and worked. Poor Freyja is bored, however. But getting my photography class wrapped up and now just need to finish my fieldwork framework class (which means publishing my blog already – with two little blog posts from before I left back in October – yeah, going to take me ages to catch up). Ah, and Linda from NC thinks she’ll make camp tomorrow – very excited to meet her and Hannah. You and the crew take care – it’s so WEIRD after all these years of planning and following you and seeing your photos to be in sync. And wow, can I just say it’s beautiful out here??? Did you catch that full moon last night/this morning??

    • Dawn in NC says:

Dawn, thanks for the update. I find it encouraging when more people take flight and launch into following their dreams. Are you going to go Bob Well’s RTR? How is Juno holding up?

      • Dawn in Asheville...err, Ehrenberg says:

Hey Dawn! Yes, the plan is to go to the RTR 🙂 Except for the vapor locking issue (which got expensive chasing down solutions – and not entirely sure it’s actually been taken care of) and needing two new tires (should’ve had the inner duallies checked before I left – one of my less brilliant choices) she’s been doing great. I’m the one that is generally a mess – LOL.

  22. Desert Ginger back in the desert! says:

Hey guys! Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I’m happy to see you have arrived back at your winter roost Sue; I figured you were there already. We continue to have a warm winter here in Tucson. I had purchased a 5000 btu air conditioner, and discovered it wasn’t big enough. So I returned it, but they were out of bigger ones so I am making do with a fan right now and it is pretty warm for just a fan. I do have central air but am trying not to use it as it makes my electric so expensive. But we are getting by. Sending out a few xmas gifts and considering whether I want to make some little trip over xmas weekend. There is a spa outside Safford, AZ that I have been wanting to visit. And I have been thinking about going up to Phoenix to have papusas. They don’t have them in Tucson. So maybe a couple of day trips. Other than that, just keep working. Doing lots of political stories. Yuck.

So, back to work. Just wanted to check in. Oh, when does Quartszite start? I’m thinking of going.

    • rvsueandcrew says:

      Hi, Ginger,

We had a nice Thanksgiving, thank you. I hope you did, too!

Very glad you mentioned Quartzsite! Here are the events scheduled between Jan. 20 and Jan. 28.: LINK

  23. AZ Jim says:

Hi Missy and fellow blogorinos! Gosh, it was fun to see Skeeter again and they are all having a ball playing together. Detta and I are doing OK, medical this and that but we’re both on this side of the grass. I wish we had done what you are doing when we could have. But, alas…we do have our RVSUE and CREW. Thanks for letting us ride along. *HUGS for all three of you*.

  24. weather says:

“…this blog has finally arrived in the present time…” , NICE!!! Great, Terrific, Woo Hoo, Yay, Yippee!!! So as you read this you could… look out your window and tell me what you see – in this moment, in real life, and it would “fill in” the story of the photos in the posts, wow, am I ever pleased !

That’s a wonderful photo of last night’s super moon. I’m glad you saw it, too.Thank you very much for showing it on here. So you really are at Midland, LTVA, where the pups have another playmate as a neighbor, with “your own” plot of ground (& a nice long winter break) stretching out before you…I’m all kinds of happy, with deep sighs of contentment here for you, Sue.

Yes, I’m already feeling the Christmas spirit. I’ve been listening to Christmas music, reading about the whole story, and before my granddaughter left to spend Thanksgiving at home I took her to an antique store. We found a few boxes of fancy glass ornaments about 60 years old, that I bought for her to take home to San Diego. Though I won’t be with the family when they trim the tree this year, now it will feel more as if I am part of it .

    • rvsueandcrew says:

      Hi, weather,

Your granddaughter and her family-to-be will cherish those ornaments and the memory of you for many Christmases in the future. Not to be morbid… I think that’s a happy thought!

Thanks for alerting me about the moon. I went outside to see it and it wasn’t there. Went inside and forgot about it until I turned off all the lights and the BLT was still lit up. Moonlight through the back window… 🙂

“look out your window and tell me what you see” … Okay. Hmm… the palo verde is flapping its branches in the wind. 🙂

      • weather says:

Neat, I looked at this post’s first photo picturing the branches in motion as we both saw them… ha, luv that stuff 🙂

Then my phone rang, a friend going through something took a while to feel at peace again, so now it’s too dark out for me to see anything through my window. My kitties are ready to curl up and go to sleep, I’ll soon tuck in, too. N’nite

    • weather says:

Just wanna tell you what I see looking outside right now. Down the lane a guy has an big heavy American flag on a 15′ tall pole that usually just hangs straight downward. As I looked through my window I saw the flag flying outward parallel with the ground so opened my door to see why. The wind is blowing through so fast and hard all I can hear is it’s roaring through the trees and the crashing sounds of waves from the lake. The waves are so big that the whitecaps on them alone are taller than I am…my God, it’s glorious!!!

  25. Barbara(Nashville) says:

Great pics of your camp and the pups. I really like that LTVA area. The double R’s seemed to like Skeeter just fine. Of course we knew Reggie did. They are all so cute playing together.
Have a good evening, I have to get back to work.

  26. Cinandjules 🌵 says:

Winter home…means R&R time! Reggie Roger and Skeeter! Three of them flying around…how fun is that? Love the last photo!

Eh…it gets done when it gets done! And if not…i’m sure “someone” has a waxing service where you’re at! Not procrastination at all…retired life.

    • Denise - Richmond VA says:

      Hi, Cinandjules! 🙂

The same thought crossed my mind. Maybe Sue could treat herself and the BLT to a wash and wax by a company that would come to her location.

  27. ValGal (westernWA) says:

You sound like you are all cozied in for the winter. Nice that the boys have a playmate. Do Roger and Skeeter like each other.

I was thinking about you finding Roger in Idaho. Do you ever hear from the woman at that RV park who almost adopted Roger?

I’m glad you had another great year of fulltime RVing. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.

    • rvsueandcrew says:

Oh yes, Roger and Skeeter get along great! No, I haven’t heard from Anita lately. She’s a very busy lady and I don’t think she’s online much. Someday the boys and I will visit Rogerson again and I’m sure it will be like we were there just yesterday. She’s that kind of person.

  28. I saw a white Chevy van towing a Casita pulling into the RV Pit Stop in Quartzsite the other day. If it wasn’t you then someone is doing a good impersonation.

  29. Nivrapa in AZ says:

Wahoo, whoopee, yahoo, and yippee!! You’ve landed at your winter basecamp! Bet it feels good to come back to a place that feels familiar and be able to settle down for a while. Must feel especially good to have the repairs on the BLT out of the way.

As for that waxing job, well I wouldn’t want you to rush into anything. That’s a pretty serious job that deserves some serious contemplation. I’d sit outside and study the job for a while and decide upon the best plan of attack. Some revision may be necessary which could cause further delay. Formulating a master plan does take time, you know. When you’ve come up with the proper strategy, you’ll launch the project. As a Commander-in-Chief of many past game plans, I know all about these things. You don’t want to begin until it feels right to do so. Trust me on that.

It looks as though Skeeter is glad you’ve arrived and the three pups are making the most of the time together. Enjoy your respite from travel and all the winter sunsets on the desert.—Audrey

Audrey – I completely agree with your plan of attach on the wax job. That sounds like something that I would do-more thought means better outcome,,someday.
I went from 5th gear to 1 st gear and I vow to hurry no more! Of course not everything gets done, but hey-it will in my own time. You made me smile!
      Have a great day!

    Hi Sue and crew-
I am camped at Gilbert Ray County Park near Tucson and it is so nice. I am surrounded by Saguro Catus and mountains. I could not stop clicking my camera. I was going to go to the Saguro National Park, but I have Saguros only 10 feet away from my rv. Beautiful sunset tonight too. Headed to Quartzite to meet up with Dawn from Asheville. Really looking forward to that. Then–I don’t know yet. Yippee! So much to see, so little time.
I am going to get some needed time off of the road, finish some projects, then move on.
I enjoyed your post as always and am glad that you are hunkered down for the winter. The pups sure look like they are having fun. My new pup, Hannah, gets so excited when she meets new people or dogs, I swear she just vibrates. She is such a good dog!
Like Audrey says, have a plan of attach on that wax job, it will be there when you get to it.

  31. Great that Roger took so well to Reggie’s old pal – looks like the three of them are having a grand time!

    Hi, Sue,

Yes, a blast from the past! Delbert the former RV park owner, with the 4 dogs. And if my memory serves, he has many children, as well. Skeeter! I bet he was happy to have some similar sized playmates. Roger made sure that Skeeter knew whose food (or water) bowl that is, standing in it for goodness sake! 🙂

Having the BLT in working order, and the blog caught up to real time has to be such a relief for you. Just in time for a relaxing winter season! 🙂

Have a good day, Sue! Sending you, Reggie, and Roger love and hugs from me and Gracie pup! 🙂

  33. Cynthia from San Clemente says:

I just loved all the pup photos today – they are so cute play “fighting” together. Especially love the one of someone standing in the bowl – looks like Roger?? It must be nice to be all caught up – I love that feeling. I’m working on getting caught up with three days of laundry after my dryer went out on me on Friday and my appliance guy couldn’t get here until Monday.

We’re definitely in the Christmas spirit here. My DIL ran a Christmas tree lot fundraiser for the local high school athletic department. I helped her Friday and Saturday by taking our RV there so we had the generator and could make coffee and hot chocolate for all the customers. It was a great success and a lot of trees were donated to Marine families at Camp Pendleton so all in all a good weekend. My tree is up and decorated and I tried ordering a few gifts last night on Amazon but my entire account has been deleted, so I’ll have to straighten that out with them today.

We had wind last night and it’s pretty breezy today too. Hopefully it settles down in Ventura County so the fires up there get contained.

I’m still keeping an eye on your whereabouts and doings, even thought I seldom write. As always, since you started your adventure on the road, I’ve enjoyed every single read you dazzle us with. I am feeling the holiday spirit now that the house is decorated and cards are heading to the mailbox, since you asked. I want to take this moment, once again, to thank you so much for your dedication to your blog and all the readers, that enjoy following you and the pups. Merry Christmas!
