Reggie and Roger are on their way to the dog park!

Quail Ridge RV Resort near Huachuca City, Arizona

“This looks like a nice play yard for you.  Let’s go in and maybe others will show up.”

About ten minutes later . . .

These two (below) are in the same family.  The pug is Clayton and the other one — A reader says is a Shih Tzu — is Cody.

Clayton (or is it Carlton?) is a rotund fellow with a gentle personality.  He and Roger become friends right away.

Here is Simba (below right).  The man accompanying Simba holds a remote to activate Simba’s collar, if necessary.  Simba has the habit of eating feces and the man is trying to cure him of that.

I didn’t ask Simba’s breed.  Do you know?

The big guys arrive.

A friendly meet-and-greet commences and Reggie is the center of attention!

I sit with the dog people underneath the carport set up inside the dog park for shade.  I soon learn these folks are long-term residents at Quail Ridge. They lease lots for their park model homes.

As I gather up these photos from the photo editor, I realize that I have a lot more photos of Roger than of Reggie.  That’s because Reggie shmoozes with the people (and I avoid photographing people).

Roger discovers the ramp table!

When you’re the dog born to be in charge of everything, you need a place from which to survey the world.  This is perfect.

Carlton joins his new friend.  I miss the sight of Carlton walking up the ramp. I suspect it would make a great photo. Funny thing about Carlton.  He has a way of sitting in different places, yet I never catch him coming or going there.  All of a sudden, he appears in another place.

Buddha dog!

One of the big dogs shows off her obedience (below).  She sits for a treat.

Good doggie!

Roger is confused by this.  Roger sits if and when he feels like it.

Everyone at the dog park — humans and canines — get along amiably.  None of us growl or bite.

Most of the dogs are “regulars.”  Reggie and Roger will be seeing a lot of them over the coming week.

Following The Canine Rule of Repeats, the crew and I are required to walk over to the dog park every morning and every late afternoon.

We also follow The Number One Rule of Dog Parks.

“Be a pal to everyone you meet!”
