Three different ways to say, “I love our new home!”

Joy in a new camp!

P1120542-001Continuing the story of our arrival at Kenney Flats, the crew and I busy ourselves turning the campsite into home.

I set out the usual items.

P1120482The photo (above) shows Bridget and Reggie after their initial reaction to a new home!

P1120472

Reggie grabs his toy flea, Bite Me, and runs and runs and runs, kicking up dust!

P1120473“Go, Reggie, go!”

After a few rounds he drops Bite Me.  It’s Froggy’s turn for a run around the campsite!

P1120477Finally the Reginator wears down and takes a breather.

Poor Bite Me collapses with exhaustion and relief!

P1120474I laugh as I take these photos.

Reggie’s joy is contagious!

This last photo of the episode cracks me up!  Reggie coughs from all the exertion.  Note the leg resting on Bite Me whose head is mashed into the ground.  No sympathy for a flea!

P1120478“It’s the altitude, baby.  Come here and have a drink.”  (Second photo at top)

Bridget is happy, too.  She just isn’t as exuberant about it.  That’s not her way.

It’s clear she likes her new home very much.

P1120462She wanders here and there, perky and alert, sniffing and inspecting.  Little brother tags along.

P1120457

Then Reggie makes an exciting discovery!

“What did you find, Reg?  Oh my!  That’s a really big bone!”

P1120456-001

He proudly drags the bone next to our sitting area and attempts to gnaw on it.  He soon gives up though.  Too much of a good thing, I guess.

The initial, excited activity subsides into peaceful enjoyment.

Camp is all set up and we’ve had our lunch.  Bridget and Reggie make themselves comfortable in their doggie beds. I relax in the lounger, listening to the birds and watching the yellow wildflowers flutter and wave in response to the breeze.

Gratitude fills my heart.

Later I sling my camera strap over my head and call the crew into action.

“C’mon!  Let’s take our walk early today.  I’m curious to see more of this place.”

Off we go!

P1120528We walk past colorful meadows and through cool forest.

P1120549-001So many different plants and flowers!  It’s going to be fun here, taking photos.

P1120467

I hope we see wildlife, too.  (We do! The deer in the previous post and other animals, too!)

P1120540

Our walk takes us where I can see a wide area surrounding our camp.

“Oh, it IS a pond!  I want to get a closer look for a photo.”

The three of us make our way through the pines.

Reggie dashes ahead.  Bridget picks her way daintily across the pine needles, stepping around pine cones.  I bend down and pet her.

“You’re such a sweet girl.  You love it here, too.”

P1120545

Pine forest opens up to grass and flowers again.

Hmm . . . Wildlife trails lead to the pond. This is a popular place.

Although I cannot see the pond from the Best Little Trailer’s windows — it’s too low — I will be able to see any animals coming or going.

Gee, I love our new home.
