The new year for Bridget and me begins appropriately on the road!
We’re leaving Painted Rock Campground west of Gila Bend, Arizona, as soon as I finish this post. (As you know, I like to make an early start.) We’ll take Interstate 8 west to Yuma, Arizona.
Before we hit the road, I want to thank you for being a passenger in the Perfect Tow Vehicle during 2014. It was an exciting year with many happy days as well as some very sad ones. Having you along made every day better!
For fun, let’s see what you recall from the past year traveling with “RVSue and her canine crew.”
Do you remember these words? What were the circumstances?
1) “You da’ man!”
2) What the HELL am I doing on this damn road?”
3) “Take the time to pause, read the names, and listen to the roses.”
4) “Oh, look! The cows are on the beach!”
5) “The dang thing goes under my hat!”
6) “I think that last comment is impolite, but I don’t let on.”
7) “If that bear breaks that window, we are in deep doo-doo.”
8) “I awake to the sound of loons.”
How did you do?
Warm wishes to you for 2015!
RVSue and Bridget

Answers to “Not so famous quotes of 2014”
Those words are my congratulations to Byron for successfully pulling the Perfect Tow Vehicle out of the sand at Coyote Wash, Wellton, Arizona, in February.
2) “What the HELL am I doing on this damn road!”
The road is Route 191 between Price and Duchesne, Utah. In a previous year I vowed we would never make that grueling climb again. A day in June I realize we are on it again!
3) “Take the time to pause, read the names, and listen to the roses.”
During a drive into Nephi, Utah, from our camp on the Nebo Loop, I discover Juab County Veterans Memorial. The poignant voices of roses bring forth tears of gratitude.
4) “Oh, look! The cows are on the beach!”
In July the crew and I are camped at Boulder Lake, Wyoming on the southeastern edge of the Wind River Range. A large beach is occupied by bunch of bovine beach bums! No matter — The crew and I have our own beach, too.
5) “The dang thing goes under my hat!”
In June our camp at Pelican Lake, Utah, is visited by a lizard and a snake, while prairie dogs sneak peeks nearby. I throw my hat at the snake in an effort to chase it away from the crew. Instead the snake sees the hat as a convenient place to hide!
6) “I think that last comment is impolite, but I don’t let on.”
In November Bridget rides in her car and is our tour guide at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Superior, Arizona. She reacts to a pat on the head and words from a passer-by, “You wouldn’t be spoiled, would you?”
7) “If that bear breaks that window, we are in deep doo-doo.”
In mid-July the crew and I are peacefully boondocked in Ashley National Forest in northern Utah, when a bear rocks the Best Little Trailer and pounds on its windows in an attempt to enter!
8) “I awake to the sound of loons.”
In September I hear the call of loons for the first time (in real life) at our boondock on a peninsula in Flaming Gorge Reservoir, Utah. I name this special camp “Loon Lagoon.”
Thank you for your wishes for a happy new year!
