Bull River in the morning

Wednesday, July 19 (continued)

The drive to Bull River Campground from our previous camp is so short that we are all set up in our campsite around noon.  Reggie, Roger, and I relax during the heat of the day. Then in the early evening when it’s cool, we follow the path above Bull River.

“We should do this again early tomorrow morning when the light is better.”

Thursday, July 20

Join me and the crew as we follow the path along the river.

The crew and I move to another camp!  Even though Bull River Campground is lovely and peaceful and we enjoyed it very much, we are off to see what more we can find in northwest Montana.

It’s back!

Readers sometimes wonder, as I often do, what goes on in the minds of the crew. Some of the captions you come up with for their photos are hilarious!

I think it’s time to bring back an old feature of this blog, “Canine Corner.”

I hope you enjoy it.

Canine Corner:  “A Fun Game” with Reggie and Roger

“Hey, Rog!  Wanna’ play a game?”

“Sure, Reg.  We could play Chase the Squirrel.  That’s my favorite.”

“No, I don’t wanna’ play that.  It’s dumb.  They always get away.” (See illustration)

“Yabut, I don’t know any other games.”

“I’ve got one.  It’s called Bite the Head Off the Donkey.  It’s a fun game.  You’ll like it.”

“Bite the Head Off the Donkey?  Okay, but I don’t know how to play it.”

“Don’t worry, Roger.  It’s easy.  I’ll show you.  You can be the donkey.”

“Oh, that IS easy.  I can do that.  All donkeys do is stand around lookin’ at nothin.’ Do I eat grass?”

“No, just stand real still.  Yeah, just like that.  Perfect!”

“Wait . . . What about you?  What are you . . . ?”

“You tricked me!  I’m gonna’ tell RVSue that you’re not playing good.”

“Gee, Rog.  You don’t have to bite my head off.  Hee-hee.  Get it?  Bite my head off?”

“Yeah, I get it.  How ’bout you get THIS!  It’s called Beat Up the Little Brother!”

In the first 3 pictures Rog looks insecure looking back to see if you are still there, or is he impatient and wishing you would hurry up and take the picture so we can see what is around the corner. always wonder what is in his mind. the crew looks good.
I am enjoying your time in montana, and the wealth of places to check out to boondock I will be passing thru there if I can ever shed this sticks and bricks. Enjoy your time.

Roger is a natural born photo bomber! Exactly what Sue has always needed from her dogs.

      • Pam Ridgely says:

I thought the same thing about Roger…..either he is a ham, or he has grown to love RVSue so much, he wants to make sure she is following and not going to leave him…..They are so cute!

Hope your not too bothered by the Smoke. We are in Missoula again this summer and the fires are surrounding us and the smoke is terrible.

    Hello Sue, boychicks, and blogorinos,

Bet you thought I wasn’t around anymore…just a major lurker I’m afraid. I continue to enjoy Sue’s travel stories and photos soooo much. Keeps me dreaming and smiling. Enjoyed my 2nd trip to Costa Rica this winter with a friend, and we had some excellent birding adventures. Now I’m preparing to leave for a 19 day trip across the pond to England. Being a Downton Abbey and Harry Potter fan, I have booked two day trips. First to see the filming locations for Downton Abbey including the grand Highclere Castle, and 2nd to visit Warner Bros.Studios, London to tour the wonderful sets used in the HP Movies. A big kid at heart, I will ride a broom and drink a butter beer. For grown up fun, I plan to see many of London’s best including Westminster Abbey, the Churchill War Rooms, and the Victoria and Albert Museum plus have a little pinkie lifting Cream Tea. After 5.5 days in London on my own, I take an express bus to Bath, England to join the Rick Steves “Best of England in 14 Days Tour”. By sharing so much of my trip with you…(ho hum Yawn of boredom) you can tell how excited I am.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful summer where ever you are.

    Best, Catew

  25. Cynthia (& Scout) says:

Wow, lucky you!! The V&A is my fave! Bon Voyage!

  26. Terri in Texas says:

    Catew
Very neat! I love England and London. The Churchill War Rooms are amazing. Everything was left completely as it was. Also the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London is a neat nighttime thing to do. Research it- you have to make reservations in advance. Enjoy your trip!

    • catew says:

Thanks for the tip Terri..I’ll be at the tower for a tour during the day with the group. We have our farewell dinner that evening so guess I’ll have to save the Ceremony of the Keys for the next trip. I’m making reservations in advance for the Churchill War Rooms so I will have the fast track entry.
Are you traveling this summer? Hope all is well in your world.
      🙂 Catew
