A storm approaches our camp on the mesa!

From the window of the Best Little Trailer I see an enormous dark cloud moving toward us.

“Reggie!  Get in your suit!  We’d better go for a walk while we can!”

Reggie hops onto the bed and sits, waiting expectantly.

He’s such a good little boy.  He knows I won’t put on his jacket unless he sits still.

“Okay, let’s go!”

Reggie and I walk up the road.  I turn to estimate how much time we have before the wind and rain arrives.

“Reg, you’d better get your business done with while you have the chance, honey.”

He picks out a bush and obliges.

The dark clouds move overhead, leaving behind pale blue sky while dimming our light.

“We’d better go back.  The rain is going to start any moment now.”

Reg and I walk briskly for home.  Soon we break into a run.   By the time we reach the BLT, Reggie is super-excited and becomes . . .

“Okay, crazy boy, inside you go . . . .”

I make myself a cup of hot tea.

This is my second favorite tea, behind Twinings Irish Breakfast, that is.   It’s called “Good Earth Sweet & Spicy,” a combination of rooibos (whatever the heck that is), chicory root, rosehip, cinnamon, lemongrass, peppermint, chamomile, ginger root, anise seed, and orange peel.

The tea perfumes our little home.  Reggie is curled up in his bed, eyes drooping to the lullaby of rain on the roof.  I go online and sip the tea, while reading messages from blogorinos.

Reggie falls asleep.  I’m lost in cyberspace until I notice that the rain has stopped.

I pull open the curtain of our big, back window.

“Oh, look at THAT!  A perfect rainbow!”

I grab my camera and race outside.

The rainbow arcs from one mesa. . . .

. . . to another mesa.

Gee, two pots of gold! 

“Go back to sleep, sweetheart.”
