The last sunset of 2017; a poem for 2018

~ Happy New Year from Reggie, Roger and RVSue! ~

~ ~ ~

Another fresh new year is here . . .ย

Another year to live!

To banish worry, doubt, and fear,

To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me

To live each day with zest . . .ย

To daily grow and try to be

My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity

Once more to right some wrongs,

To pray for peace, to plant a tree,

And sing more joyful songs!

Happy New Year Sue, Reggie, and Roger. Lovely sunset. My plans are to be out near Quartzite by January 7. I may go to Ajo or Blythe if I can’t take the crowd there. I want to try and stay a few days to get information and meet people doing the same thing to learn from them. May hang around for the gem show something I have always wanted to come to. Just have to wait and see. I have to check the dates for that show to make sure It is not too far out. Don’t worry I will respect your privacy if I happen to see you.

  39. Robin B (Oregon & Arizona) says:

Happy New Year to you, too, RVSue!

I’m sorry to say our sunset fizzled a bit but the moonrise was stunning, and this was the first New Year’s Eve that we not only hung out by the pool for the afternoon but also had our dinner (grilled cheese with bacon on sourdough, our yearly treat) on the patio under the almost-full moon. Life is good.

My recipe for sourdough grilled cheese would be great for your grill – Just make sure and use good thick bread, Tillamook medium cheese, crisp bacon, mayo, and real butter for the outside, or just use mayo for the outside. Grill very slowly, preferably with a cover to keep the heat in. YUMMY!

Happy New Year Sue and Crew. Love the header photo. I can’t remember when or what you were doing when you took that but it hilarious then and now.

Love that poem, so appropriate for the New Year.

Have to tell you a funny story. As you probably know, we are having very cold temps here, 0 and below with wind chills. As a result, I decided Angel most definitely need a coat, I bought two. One is a down alternative type that goes around her neck and around her belly and attached with velcro. The other is a sweater type that her legs fit through and keep her tummy warmer and has a little hat with a pouf on top.
So I figured the velcro one would be the easiest. I put her harness on, laid the coat on her back, hooked the velcro at the neck and she took off running the house like a wild animal. My husband an I were dying laughing and all the while trying to catch her. Finally did, 10 minutes later and got the belly band closed and we went out for a normal walk. She did the same thing this morning and we were laughing hysterically again. Good thing I didn’t try the other one first.

  70. Kathy (NC) says:

Happy New Year, Sue – I hope you, Reggie and Roger have a wonderful 2018.
    Kathy.

  71. Sharon Coquet says:
