You’re welcome, CT. I did absolutely no color editing.

  3. Barb says:

    YEP! HAVE FUN!!!

  4. Karen says:

Absolutely awesome. I’d love to go there.

  5. SPECTACULAR PICTURES!! Did I see an eagle in a tree? What a beautiful blue lake!!!

  6. Pat Scrabeck says:

Absolutely love your blog. I’m an Oregonian and it will always be home to me–now living in the hell capitol of the world, Phoenix, AZ, and dying to go back to the green of Oregon. Your blog has planted a seed in my head and I am seriously thinking about buying my own “egg” and breaking out of my rut, and what a surprise that would be to everybody–me included. That cute little island at Crater Lake is called Wizard Island. When I was a kid we stopped there for a picnic.

    • Ed Smith says:

FYI, I’m living in Phoenix, hot yes, hell no. But I just bought a home in Ashland and will be moving in the next few months. Hope you get back there soon.

      • sharon young says:

right on ed, phoenix isn’t oregon but ALL places have there beauty & this is no except, but life is too short if you feel that strong then head out straight away—-sue, those pictures couldn’t of been done better & i’ve never heard of crater lake but i’ll be going there for sure thanks to you—-bartko116

    • rvsueandcrew says:

Hi Pat! I’m happy to know you love my blog. Thanks for telling me.

So you’re thinking about an egg! Believe me, breaking out of a rut is exhilirating, and it’s so much fun to see how it surprises people.

There is a Wizard Island, but my photos are of the Phantom Ship.

You made it, yeah! We’re still at Diamond Lake NFS (site A4) if you have time to come by. With everything going on right now with your doggie I totally understand if you don’t, but if you fancy a glass we’re here thro Sunday. There are boondocking (free) sites around here too…scouted out a few yesterday. So, if you need info on them let me know.

      Hi Nina,

I’m having a hard time leaving this campground. I can’t get enough of it!

Thanks for the offer on free campsites. I’ve realized that I need to camp where there is pavement so I can push Bridget in her stroller while giving Spike the exercise he needs. I probably won’t make it to Diamond Lake. I appreciate the invitation… Enjoy!

  8. Glenda Cornwill says:

Lovely photos Sue………..want to see another equally blue lake? Check out the Blue Lake Mt Gambier Sout Asutralia…………..not as big as Crater Lake but equally stunning!!

  9. earthdancerimages says:

Wow! What else can I say! Super photos! Bridget and Spike look happy too! Hope you are happy and well!

  10. cinandjules says:

Great pics! I see the same eagle! Or some kind of HUGE bird.

  11. Terrie (Happee Kamper) says:

Just gorgeous! The “crew” looks like happy travelers too enjoying the stop at this beautiful place..

  12. Bev Deem says:

You captured the Lake with beautiful photos! One never tires of seeing that Wonder! Seeing those photos evokes wonderful memories. I do hope Bridget will mend well so your mind will be at ease during your travels. Safe travels.

  13. Rod says:

A blog of all pictures! But what else is there to be said about a place that is that beautiful? Nice work…..

  14. cozygirl says:

On the top of my “got to see” list…must feel like heaven! Sweet slideshow!

  15. Dianne Long says:

Because I have never been there, I have a question. Can you use the lake or does it set way down there within the crater at each point? What a beautiful spot to encounter on your travels.
    Thanks for sharing.

  16. Chuck says:

Another set of gorgeous pics!!! Crater Lake doesn’t need PhotoShop!!!!! Spike will have a hard time wading in the lake though!!!!!! Hopefully I can show it to Geri next year! A plan is starting to form…..

  17. Beautiful!!! Check out Lake Tahoe as well since you are possibely heading in that direction. In fact if you do, maybe I can meet up with you . Tahoe is another wonder of a lake !

  18. klbexplores says:

So you are stunned beyond words? Awesome pics!

  19. Elizabeth says:

So glad you made it there…did you drive all around the lake yet?

    • rvsueandcrew says:

No, I haven’t made it all around the lake. I stopped to check my blog, since I figured I’d have connection that high up (there’s none at the campground), and when I finished answering emails and writing the blog, over four hours had gone by and it was time to go back to the campground! One of the most beautiful places on earth and I’m looking at a computer monitor! Shameful!

  20. Linda a. says:

Thinking about Bridget’s needed surgery….we have a very well renowned Vet college and clinic
in Davis, Calif…. You would haveto call Davis for number, sorry. .They specialize in the harder issues of animals. Maybe give them a call to
see who they would refer you to in the surrounding areas of where your located.
It couldn’t hurt. She deserves the best! Just a suggestion.
    Blessings to you three.

  21. Carolyn says:

On my knees when I rounded the corner and WHAM that blue blue blue … I went to a ranger slide show at the amphitheater … Not only so blue but is the cleanest lake on this planet!!!

Loved it … Still be there if I had that view .. But as you know … The campground is 13 miles away …

  22. patricia Leonhardt says:

Hey Sue, that little island in the lake looks almost mystical, expect to see flying dragons and some castles. Really beautiful! I am saying a prayer for Bridget’s fast recovery too! Also a prayer for you to maintain your sanity too! Love is stressful. Good luck.

  23. Jim says:

Another lake that is beautiful and has a unique color is Bear Lake which is located straddling the state lines of Idaho and Utah. I had a cabin there in what is known as Bear Lake West for a few years that I used only a month a year when I lived in San Diego. I lived there full time two years. Great place in the summer, winters are rough. Great Pics Sue, keep having fun and take care.

  24. gingerda says:

I haven’t been to Crater Lake since I was a kid, so these pictures brought back some good memories. You are a great photographer and these pictures would make beautiful post cards.

    • rvsueandcrew says:

Thanks for the compliment on my photography. At the overlooks I stood with my little red digital next to photographers with lenses that looked like cannons. I can’t imagine what their pics look like, if I can manage to get something fairly acceptable with my little toy!

  25. Will & Mair & Snowy too. says:

Hi Sue, I am a new follower tuned into your sight by the newspaper article about Timber. My wife and I along with a crew of one travel once in a while in our popup (Mojo). Your slide show looks a lot like some of my pics from our pines and lakes in Arizona. Love the art of old trees. Have you been to Blue Ridge campground and reservoir yet? We hope to leave the valley and move to Flagstaff in two years, and expand our horizons north for camping. I am elated to be a follower of your travels. Hope to learn more of our countries beauty with you.

    • rvsueandcrew says:

Welcome to my blog! I’m elated you’ve decided to follow along. Regards to all three of you!

No, I haven’t been to Blue Ridge. Flagstaff will be a great starting point for wonderful camping destinations in all directions. This certainly is a beautiful country and I’m pleased to be able to share it.

  26. Dorothy says:

Been there several years ago…YES, it is that blue….A wonderful place to camp…

  27. mockturtle says:

About your phone: I think I posted this before, but don’t you have a 12V receptacle in your tow vehicle? Cigarette lighter? You can charge your phone while you’re driving and, more importantly, plug it in if you need to used it and the battery is dead. Also, it sounds like there is something wrong with your phone or its battery that it seems to go dead so often. Hope I’m not sounding critical–just helpful! 🙂

  28. mockturtle says:

BTW, awesome pics! Been hoping to get to Crater Lake one of these days.

  29. Doc says:

Be sure to go over to the Rim Village side. At that overlook there are VERY tame ground squirrels. They will come right up to you looking for food. Of course Spike and Bridge will probably have to stay in the van.

  30. Ernest Smith says:

Sue when I was working in the Electronics Dept at the Benton, AR Walmart, there was a clip running for months on the display TVs about Crater Lake. The comment that stuck in my mind was about how a lady who had visited the lake went home and wrote her congressman stating that she did not think the Government should be spending money “Dyeing” the lake…. 🙂 I was able to take my wife in our RV there and had a wonderful trip inspite of the fact she was recovering from a near-death battle with ITP. Sadly later that year she developed pancreatic cancer and passed away 4 months later.
