The canines meet and the house becomes home

Saturday, August 18 – Wednesday, August 22

Nancy and I devise a plan for the initial meeting of our canine crews.  Via phone, as she and Frank are almost at the house in the rental truck that’s towing a car trailer, we decide that Reggie and Roger be kept inside the house until Margaret the Westie is within the fenced yard.

Otherwise my boys would charge the gate, barking, jumping, possibly getting out of the yard, and generally causing confusion.

Instead, we humans and Marg greet each other while Reggie and Roger watch through the dining room window.   Then I open the door and they fly out to meet the strange, white dog on the porch.

The plan works beautifully!

After a few moments of sniffing each other’s behinds with their tails wagging, Marg decides to go inside to check out the interior of her new home.

She returns to the open door to give her report on what she has found:

“I like it!  I really like it!”

Soon all three pups play together.

I try for a few photos, while at the same time experiencing the moment of seeing family after several years.  The three pups tangle around our legs in playful exuberance and my photos don’t come out well.

Later . . . .

I find Reg and Rog showing Marg around the backyard.

It’s like they’ve known each other for years!

Nancy loves plants.

She can take a half-dead plant off the clearance rack in Walmart’s garden center, pay less than a dollar for it, bring it home, re-pot and pamper it, and within a few months the plant is healthy, huge, and looking like an expensive purchase from a nursery.

She has a lot of plants.

Anyway . . .

Before setting out from Florida, Frank researches the feasibility of transporting plants in the back of a cargo truck all the way to southern Arizona.

He learns that the plants will survive for three days.  The fourth day they start dying.  The drive from Florida to Arizona takes almost four days.

This is the fourth day.

The back one-third of the 26-foot rental truck is packed with potted palms, ferns, cacti, succulents, flowering bushes, vines, and I don’t know what-all.  All of it lovely green.

We can’t wait for the movers to arrive to unload the truck.  Well, actually it’s the plants that cannot wait.

They need to be taken off that truck right away.

Frank unhooks the car trailer and backs the rental truck behind the house.  He brings out the ramp to the patio.  The three of us begin unloading plants, some of them six feet tall in crockery pots 3 feet in diameter.  We have a dolly and a hand cart to work with.

Nancy discovers that her favorite pot, holding a big palm, didn’t survive the bumpy roads. From the pieces I can tell that it had a beautiful, aged quality, as if out of antiquity.  What a shame.

The palm did survive the trip.

(Later Nancy wraps the root ball with a towel and keeps it moist.  The palm is doing well.)

The afternoon is hot and so is the work hauling plants.

Soon I have to take a break.  Nancy turns on the hose and sprays the plants once they are in the covered patio area.  The water perks them up.

The rental truck blocks the big gates from closing.

We can’t keep the dogs in the house.  They want to be outside where the action is and they’re very excited.  I’m not surprised when Roger darts out of the yard and Reggie follows.

Marg, on the other hand, isn’t interested in straying too far from Nancy’s side.  Eventually my boys return to the yard and all is well.

~ ~ ~

I’ll post photos of the plants in a future post.

Several readers showed interest in the meeting of the three dogs, so that’s what I feature in this post’s photos.

It was nice seeing Frank again after 40 some years.

Nancy works hard for several hours arranging furniture and accessories.  I try to help, mostly by staying out of her way.  Plus the movers help carry big furniture inside.

Frank puts up two light fixtures.  Nancy brought a total of 64 boxes.  I offer to help unpack, but she prefers to unpack them as she’s ready to place the contents in order to avoid creating a mess.

My job soon becomes the breaking down of the boxes, loading them in the Perfect Tow Vehicle, and on Tuesday, taking them and other stuff to the transfer station.

I had steaks ready for Nancy’s grill for Sunday dinner.

(Frank likes the potato salad.)

Frank leaves for New York Monday morning.  He’s missing his family (He and his wife have two small children) so he’s anxious to return home.  He’s been involved in this move for a week, including the horrible travel with the rental truck.  Plus he has to go to work Tuesday morning.

Thank you, Frankie!

The house is already feeling like home, like our home.

~ ~ ~

This is a jumbled report.

Lots is left out, of course, because it’s been an exciting and memorable few days, and there’s still much I’m wanting to do.

I throw this together so that those of you interested would know that the meeting of canine crews is a total success.  Reg, Rog, and Marg have not had one disagreement.  Not one!

Little Marg loves it here.

Already she loves her new pals and they love her.

The kicker for me . . .

Yesterday afternoon I take a nap in my new, pretty bed.   What a pleasant surprise to wake and find Marg lying quietly alongside me, leaning against my back.  I roll over and put my arm around her.

NOTE:  Most of the pics are Roger and Marg.  Reggie plays with Marg, too, just as much as Roger does.  However, I haven’t captured photos of that yet.  — Sue

Near the top? Nancy is there!

  3. David Ainley says:

    YAHOO!!!!!!! A family at last.

  4. Annette says:

    Wonderful reunion!

  5. Ozarkjoy says:

WELL how about that top of the line. Lol

  6. Cynthia in San Clemente says:

Oh Sue, these photos of the threesome are wonderful!! They look like they are having so much fun. I can see Marg is holding her own with your two hooligans! She looks bigger, but I’m guessing it’s just the fact that she has more hair. Are their weights about the same? And how sweet that she was napping with you – I guess you got the “Marg Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval!”

Looking forward to seeing photos of the inside of the house after Nancy gets things unloaded. Healthy green plants go a long way to making a house look inviting, I think. I had never done well with inside plants when I worked full-time, but now that I’m retired I have one or two in every room and I put a note on my calendar for when to water and feed them and they are doing well.

Have you made Nancy one of your yummy smoothies yet??

  7. Cinandjules🌵 says:

Wonderful reunion! Glad to see Marg loves it there!

  8. Dave R says:

    Thanks for the update!

  9. eliza says:

Thank you for sharing these glimpses with us. I know how hectic a move can be, and I’m sure the adjustments for all will take some time. It sounds joyous despite the chaos so far, so congratulations to all of you!

  10. Dawn in Nc says:

That first picture of Marg smiling out from the inside of the house is PRICELESS! You can see her joy clearly. It’s also great to see what fun she is having with the boys. How adorable for her to cuddle with you during your nap! Obviously, Marg approves of the move and her new home. I hope that you and Nancy are having a grand time catching up, unpacking and settling in. So happy that she made it safely despite all of the set backs. Thanks for the post! I am feeling a bit blue and it really cheered me up!

  11. Jolene/Iowa says:

Oh what a wonderful post!! I love that all the pups are loving each other. It sounds like you are all getting settled in! What a momentous time in your lives!

And sweet Marg, what a gift to wake up with her nestled against you! You are all one, big happy family! Makes my heart happy!!

  12. Barbara Buchanan says:

Back after reading the post. Love all the pictures of the dogs and seeing them get along. How sweet that Marg curled up against your back. You’re accepted! Look forward to seeing all the plants. What a shame the beautiful old pot got broken. What an exciting reunion. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. I have been having to type in my name and email address whenever I make a comment. Is there something I should do so I don’t have to? This didn’t use to happen.

    • suzago in PNW says:

Hi Barbara, Where it asks for your name, you can still type your old blogorino name – it will accept that. And the email address won’t show. Just new security hoops.

  13. Sally S Jacob says:

So exciting to hear life is going so well for you all… I have followed you sense before you picked up the Casida! Your adventures on the road and off are so enjoyable and I look forward to each one. Best wishes to this expanded family group! Wags to all from my girls – Music, Violet and Annie.

  14. Elaine Magliacane says:

So happy to hear your sister and Marg made it to Arizona safe and sound… and the added bonus that the dogs are getting along famously. Happy family photos all around.

  15. suzago in PNW says:

Wonderful! Happy for all of you! And Marg is absolutely adorable. So great that she and the boys will be buddies. Happiness all around.

  16. That’s so nice, and how exciting for you all!

  17. Cindy says:

Isn’t it awesome how dogs (and small children) generally get along? And so sweet that Marg chose to nap with you.

  18. milliehubbard says:

What a great post Sue, it is so happy to see the three furkids having so much fun together. It must be a huge relief for Nancy and Frank to have arrived and be off the road. Not matter how much work and planning go into a move, it is still a very stressful thing. Glad you are all together safe and sound. More pictures please when you have a chance…such busy days!!

  19. Gene Siesky says:

Well Marg is going to need a haircut in order to cope with her new environment. Looking forward to photos of your newly decorated place.

    • Linda Sand in Minnesota says:

Actually, Marge’s hair will insulate her against heat just as it does against cold. Shaving an animal in a hot climate is not a good things to do; it leaves them vulnerable to sunburn.

    • Sally in MI says:

I was thinking the same thing. White fur and red dirt or brown dirt isn’t going to be as easy as R & R.

  20. A gal in Maple Valley, Wa says:

    Hi,Sue!

What a great big blur of furry white fun. Whipped cream with marshmallow fluff tangle with French vanilla ice cream. The pups are just that sweet!

  21. weather says:

Oh my goodness, Marg is so-o cute! It’s great that she and the boys get along so well. Thanks for the newsy post ,Sue, a lot of us have been curious and eager to hear how everything’s going. How wonderful that your house feels like home already! I imagine it will be truly lovely when everything is unpacked and in it’s place.

Nice header photo, I hope Fortuna Robert checks in and recognizes it. He is camping, probably in that same site at Kinney Flats now.

  22. Desert Ginger says:

Oh my god I love Marg! What a cute dog! So glad she is getting along with the boys!

Lucky you, living with someone who knows plants and has a green thumb. I love plants in a house but just can’t keep anything alive. I imagine all those plants will keep your air nice and fresh.

I’m starting to recover from my depression about my company closing and my job ending. Of course I’m frantically figuring out how to lower my expenses, and also looking for other work. Still trying to decide if I’m making a trip to Tulsa too.

I ate too much lunch and need a nap! Have fun getting settled.

    • Cynthia in San Clemente says:

Ginger, I guessed I missed the news about your company and job – so sorry to hear that? Where general area are you now and what kind of work are you looking for?

      • Desert Ginger says:

I’m in Tucson and I prefer working from home on my computer. Writing, editing, proofing, answering phones, doing transcribing…whatever! Thanks!

        • Cynthia In San Clemente says:

Darn, I don’t know of anything available in Tucson, but I’ll pray for something good to come your way.

        • Barbara (Nashville) says:

DG, The company I subcontract for has some things available for work from home, all computer entry.

Maybe Sue could send you my email address and I can give you the info.

I know how hard it is to find work from home jobs.

          • rvsueandcrew says:

Could you post the info about the company here? I’ve had a long-held policy of not emailing readers because I want to limit distribution of my own email address.

    • Dawn in NC says:

I’m sorry to hear about your job DG. That really stinks. I’ll be praying for you!

  23. Becky in NJ says:

Marg is adorable! Have been anxiously awaiting an update- glad to hear all is going so well. It will be interesting to see your sister’s plant collection!

  24. Nancy in Texas says:

How very great that all the dogs get along well. Sounds like Marg has taken to you also. Isn’t it great when all works out well…

  25. Helen says:

All of the happiness made me tear up. I am so glad that although you like to be alone you are no longer. Enjoy this new happiness and the new bed.

  26. Shirley says:

    Thanks for the fun update!

  27. Columbus Calvin says:

I’m glad for everybody that the move is over. All’s well that ends well.

That picture of Marg in the doorway is wonderful! She’s very cute. Better yet, she looks happy and already at home with your household.

  28. So glad they finally arrived after the difficult trip 😀. That’s wonderful that Reggie, Roger and Marg were instant buddies. All the photos are too cute!

  29. So excited to see this post!!! Wow! how adorable are the canines! Marg is so adorable. Can’t wait to see the plants Nancy brought. I don’t have many in the house but I have had them for years…one plant from a wedding gift many years ago, another plant from sister who passed away five years ago, and a lily plant from niece three years ago. I thought I killed the Lily by over watering so I stopped watering it and let the planter dry out and a few weeks later, the bulb sprouted..yay!! It’s now green and hope it will bud and flower soon again. My outside plants didn’t do well this year. All my lavender plants died no matter that I watered them twice a day…still dried out and died (four in all) and I planted hollyhocks in back yard this spring. The hollyhocks sprouted until the weather turned warm and they also died even keeping them moist didn’t help. I’ll have to research on plants to see which will survive the heat next time. Anyway, glad all is well. What was Nancy’s response to house and generally Arizona?

  30. Geri in the FL panhandle! says:

    Happy! 💗Happy! 💗Happy!💗
This was a post full of smiles and wagging tails! How wonderful that Marg and the boys were immediately friends! Yay! And plants ! The chart thing I did when we decided that we were permanently off the road was plant flowers! It makes things seem more real, more like home, knowing you have to be there to take care of them!
Hi Nancy!💗 Are we driving you crazy yet? 😁 Sure hope you are gonna be happy there! Arizona is one of my favorite places to be! Sorry to hear about your favorite pot breaking!😢 You will find another one!!
Give the canine crew hugs all around! Thank you Sue for such a happy post! 😂😊😁 I loved all the wagging tails and butt smelling photos! 😂

  31. Geri in the FL panhandle! says:

    Jeeeze @ auto correct! 😠

  33. Gingerita says:

The dogs are so adorable together! So glad they get along and so sweet that Marg snuggled up to you:) Glad all is coming together nicely and looking forward to the plant pictures. Right now I have one plant. I have kept it alive for a year, so maybe I will get another lol.

  34. Sharon Coquet says:

God bless you all so glad all is well and every one is happy.

  35. Ruthie in Fontana says:

So glad to see the pups get along so well. Marg has made herself right at home! As it should be. I see you all still have some work to do but just wanted to welcome Nancy and Marg home. They couldn’t be in a better place.

  36. Virginia620 (Mobile) says:

What a great report! So glad, sis, pup and plants are finally at home.

  37. Gloria in Prescott, Az. says:

You must have felt lost in that regular bed after all these years on a 24 incher.
I hope Nancy enjoys the challenge of gardening in our dry climate. Sounds like she has fun with inside plants which I find easier to make happy.
So glad the pups are enjoying each other as much as you and Nancy most certainly are.

  38. Jan NH says:

What a great post, Sue. Marg’s picture at the open door with your caption just says it all. So happy they are all having such fun together and that you are all settling in together. Love that you woke up from your nap to find Marg cuddled up with you!

Thank you for taking the time to share this update. Happy they made it there safely and Frank was able to get back to his family as planned on Monday. So awesome that he was able to take a week off to help him mom.

  39. LeeJ in Northern California says:

What a wonderful report. That Marg is so cute! I have a soft spot for long haired terriers, so this is a given, but the sweet meeting between the doggies is so,special! My terriers love other dogs too…ahh…
I know you are so busy so thanks so much for taking the time to give us this abundance of good news!
Hello to Nancy, what a lovely lady you must be.

  40. Eddie says:

Happy for you! Family is important!

  41. Linda Sand in Minnesota says:

I love that all the dogs became instant friends. What a relief that is. Now, I’m looking forward to seeing how Nancy furnishes the house. I wish I could borrow her skill with plants.

  42. Rob (in Maine) says:

Your sister made it, the dog are getting along great & you’ve got a new bed! Enjoy!!

  43. Harriet says:

What an adorable little girl! The boys did good and now we have a threesome to watch frolicking. How fun!
Sounds like Nancy is getting settled in alright, I can almost feel her anxiousness . I like to live by “everything has a place and everything should be in it’s place” , myself. When the dust settles it we be great.
Just love the photos, think we can nickname Marg, Ms. Personally! Her expression by the door say everything.
    Well home y’all!

  44. Gail from Buckeye AZ says:

I love the picture of Marg at the front door, she looks so happy!
The little guys look so excited to welcome Marg to Arizona.
My cousin and I were all smiles reading your blog and looking at the pictures, lots of “oh how sweet they are”, so happy for you all!
We wish you all much happiness!

  45. Donna 'n Girls Chandler says:

    Happy days. Enjoy.

  46. Carin says:

    Absolutely wonderful!!!!!

Made me chuckle and smile (a lot) reading and seeing the pictures of the trio.

I’m on day 11 of a new little girl doggie getting used to my little boy doggie. They chase and growl and ignore. But better than yesterday!

Enjoy your sister Sue and welcome Nancy !!

  47. Hilogene says:

Great post and photos, thanks for catching us up on the arrival!

  48. Jodee Gravel says:

Marg is adorable – that first pic of her is precious! So glad the trio has bonded so quickly. Of course it’s wonderful that Nancy is home too :-)))) Bummer about the vintage palm pot, but there are so many wonderful pottery places in the area you’ll have fun looking for a new one!

  49. Marcia GB in MA says:

So glad to hear that Nancy and Marg made it there safely! The fur balls sure look like they are all getting along well. Marg is adorable. What fun times you’ll have with them.
I’m interested to see all Nancy’s plants and how well they traveled. I take my succulents and 30 orchids back and forth from Massachusetts to Florida every year. Usually with no problems; I have only lost one in three years.

  50. ReneeG says:

Awwww, be still my beating heart . . . I am smiling all over and overcome with emotion at seeing such happiness on four legs and knowing that Sweet Sue is with her sister, Nancy, and the love of Frank in helping his mother travel such a long way. Such a wonderful son.

  51. Pamela Campbell says:

Total success! How very nice for you, Sue, and Nancy and the canines! How wonderful. Frank sure did make things go smoothly. So happy for you all!
Pamelab in Lubbock visiting family for now

  52. Rover Ronda says:

So glad your family finally made it home safely. Sorry to hear about the broken pottery, maybe she could mosaic it into the garden. Or google kintsukuroi, that’s more work but beautiful!
    Sleep well, enjoy!

  53. Val R. Lakefield Ontario, says:

What a wonderful post Sue. I am glad the dogs made friends so quickly. Mary is a real cutie as most Westies are. Enjoy your family time and all the adventures to follow.

  54. AZ Jim says:

Missy, I can tell you are happy and that pleases me. *Hug*

  55. Elizabeth says:

Aw…so glad all is going well!! Especially that the furbabies all like each other!! That will make life so much easier too. Glad most of the plants are doing well too. That was sweet that Marg felt so comfortable with you so soon!!

  56. Denise - Richmond VA says:

    Hi, Sue,

Thank you for taking the time to put together a new post. It is so nice to see all of the pups getting along so well! Little Marg looks like she can “roll with the boys”, playing just as hard as they do! I love her happy smile of approval of her new home! Miss Marg reminds me so much of my first Westie girl…so sweet! 💕

Sounds like you and Nancy are making great strides with getting things moved in and set up. I like Nancy’s plan of attack….don’t open a box until the room is ready for the contents. Glad that all of the plants survived the trip. Sorry to hear that one pot was broken. I look forward to seeing pictures of the plants. 🙂

Have a good night, Sue. Thanks again for the update. Sending you, Reggie, and Roger lots of love and hugs from me and Gracie pup! Waking up to Marg snuggled against your back is precious! 🙂 xo

Welcome home, Nancy and Marg! 🙂

  57. Barb from Hoquiam says:

    Yay! Marg is a cutie!!!!

    Good luck with everything! Hugs!!!

  58. Sharron says:

What a wonderful reunion and family home! Thanks for sharing.

  59. ApplegirlNY says:

What a pleasure to read this post. Time is a funny thing. It seemed like this moment was so far off, and now here we are.
Continued blessings on your reunion and new adventures!

  60. ValGal (Western WA) says:

I’m glad they arrived safely! Whew! What a journey.

Marg is so adorable. I used to have Scotties, so I love Westies, too. She is just the cutest. I’m so happy all the pups are getting along and having fun. You better have a king sized bed for all those puppers, Sue, or you’ll be clinging to the edge of the bed.

  61. Terri in Tx. says:

So happy to hear the reunion was a success! With the canines AND sisters!
We have been busy preparing our move from Texas to New Mexico! The weather here this summer has been the worst of my life. Just about every day over 100 degrees with a “feels like” of 5+ degrees hotter. Not something we want to deal with any longer. Albuquerque here we come! (Well, as soon as the house sells!). :). I giggled delightedly with the new canine corner, RvSue! You are are a born storyteller! In the middle ages you probably would have been a traveling bard. My sister and BIL are moving with us to NM so I will be close to my sister, as well. As we get older, it has become more important for us. Stay safe, and take care all!

  62. Pam and Maya in Oregon! says:

What a great reunion! Thank you for sharing!

  63. suzicruzi from the 'Couve says:

Hi Sue and everyone, Marg and Nancy included,
We got “off the road” a week ago, and I had my surgery, and am now bored to tears sitting and healing. Ugh. It’s my right hand and so I’ve been trying to do everything left handed, and one handed, for almost a week now. No driving too, and after being on the road solidly for 7 weeks, I’m “dying” sitting around my friend’s house. This too shall pass, right?

The fires out West have put a damper on much of my hiking community’s ability to hike, so at least I’m not jonesing to get out on the trail, and being tormented by every one else’s photos of how beautiful it is out there. It’s not! The smoke in the Portland metro area, and beyond, is of “dangerous air quality”, and there are all the warnings of “stay indoors”, blah, blah blah. At least I have that going for me. I think I may be able to drive next week, and also the air quality is supposed to improve by then as well.

I want to shop for things for the Casita; sheets, a comforter, and a closet “system” from Storeables, that I saw from an earlier poster. I know much I can get online, but I’m a touchy-feely type, and I like to check out what I’m going to buy in person, as much as possible. Portland is a great place to shop as there’s no sales tax, and there is just about any store a person could ever ask for, or dream up. It’s a shoppers paradise, ha. 🙂 I want to take full advantage before we hit the road again in October. “sigh”, that feels a long way off. Daily I go out front and unlock the Casita to air her out and just take kitty in to sit with me a bit. I miss our lovely, cozy little cocoon. I truly hate seeing her sitting out on the street like that. So solitary, and sedentary – almost lonely herself. ;-(

I want to review some camps we found on the way out of Wyoming, and through Montana and Idaho, but that will have to wait. I type pecking with my left index finger, and I have to correct a ton of typos as I go, so that would take me all day. I will down the road though, or for anyone specifically interested. Speaking of; I (we) found out it’s practically a full-time job planning routes, and finding camps without knowing an area. There were days it put a strain on our travel, especially with temps in the 90’s and beyond! We had maps and books, but not always cell service. Sometimes it was hit or miss. We did get skunked a few times, but over came it by finding other fabulous places at other times. (Especially the free and deserted camps!)

I want to add that I love Marg’s sweet little face and expression. What a little dolly! A very nice “feminine” addition to your very male, and feisty boys. I think she will balance the “tribe” out very nicely.

And hey? How’s that bed of yours, ‘eh? Kinda sweet after sleeping on your pallet made of blankets and such? I’m so happy for you Sue. Actually, I’m happy for all of you, and of course Nancy too. So cool that the two of you can combine resources and live together; share your retirement, hopes and dreams together. A very sweet thing indeed.

I’ll close here. I hope you all have a wonderful day!! Take care….
    Suzi

    • Judy J. in S.C. says:

Hi, Suzi. Hoping you heal well and quickly. We also have a Casita. Taking off for the Outer Banks tomorrow and can’t wait! If you haven’t been there, Sink Canyon State Park outside of Lander, Wy. is very nice; quite interesting area. We fell in love with the little town of Lander. Sue stayed at this park and mentions it in a blog. There are MANY acres of free camping around there. Just close the gate and make sure the cows stay in! 😄

      • Suzicruzi says:

Hi Judy! Wow thanks- we missed that area. Darn! I’m making a note and saving this for next time! Thanks so much!! 👍🏼

        Suzi 🙂

        • Barbara (Nashville) says:

Take care of yourself Suzicruzi. I know it can get nerve wracking waiting around, but taking the required time to heal will pay off in the long run.

  64. leilani (Texas) says:

Must be such a relief that gorgeous Marg can hold her own with those boys! The boys showing off their yard to her reminds me of when Reggie first met Roger & Roger showed him how to climb on tables at the RV park.

  65. Jean in Southaven, says:

Great post. Full of happy doggie faces. So glad that the move is over with and everything is going well. I was sorry to hear about the planter that did not make it. Maybe Nancy can find a pretty replacement there in the area. I know when I was in Tucson there were all kinds of pretty out door décor. Keep us posted and be sure to include pictures of the plants too. lots of us are plant lovers as well as animal lovers out here.

  66. ApplegirlNY says:

Suzi, Hope you heal up. It’s tough when you feel that you can’t do all you want to do. We refer to our Casita as our cocoon, as well. Snugs as bugs in rugs. Love it.

🙂 Two more weeks until the stitches come out. It seems like forever but I’m sure it will all be a blur soon enough right? Thanks for thinking of me! 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to update us, Sue. I’m sure things are hectic, but Nancey seems to be extremely organized, sine she doesn’t unpack the next box until she is finished with what she is working on.
Love how the pups have taken to each other. I know you are so excited to have Nancy arrive finally after the chaos along the way.
Welcome Nancy and Marg. I always loved Westies, all their enthusiasm and expressiveness. She is a cutie.
I posted a note to Desert Ginger above above. Maybe you can help, when you get chance.

And I was gonna say, it was ROG that was worried in the Canine Corner about losing his bestie Reg to the newcomer; and here he is playing with her! (I’m sure they do play equally.) And I noticed the boys apparently showed Marg their old home.

One good thing about being in Arizona….there should be plenty of pots to replace the broken one! And yes, Sue, it’s probably best to just stay out of the way and play ‘go-fer’ as needed. LOL

    Hi, suzicruzi,

I hope your hand heals quickly so you can get back to your great adventure! Have fun window shopping for your Casita until you are able to visit a store in person to check out the items. No sales tax – great! Every little bit of saving makes a difference! Hang in there…October is just around the corner! 🙂

    Hey Sue!
Welcome Marg and Nancy! The pic of Marg on the blue rug is precious! I can just hear her delight, too!
I love the pics and patter in this blog…joy all around!
Thanks for sharing this time with us… : )
When they recover and can, I bet the plants are just as happy to be in their new home as the rest of the crew (people and pups)!

welcome nancy & marg to AZ…I know you’re relieved that that part of moving is behind you…it won’t be long before everything is unpacked and you all can begin to live life again…the pups are all adorable …so glad the plants survived the trip, the broken pot can be repurposed as mosaic tile for a planter box or to cover a plant stand/table top…I’m sure nancy can get creative with the pieces and put them to use elsewhere…be blessed and thank you sue for sharing your life and family with all of us…

Sue, thank you for making time to give us this update with all you had to do. Frank, Thank You for taking the time to move your Mom and Marg and making those of us on this end not worry so much about the trip. Nancy and Marg, welcome home!
It looks like Roger, who was concerned about losing his dish & bed and place in line has gotten a great start on being friends with Marg. Reggie sort of looks like he’s on the sidelines a bit, but they are all kind spirits and will become the Three Musketeers in no time. Like the picture of Marg looking at the camera over Rogers back almost as well as her in the doorway. Rog looks like he is guarding her. Things are falling into place nicely. Be Well all of you.
