Meet Reggie!
Reggie has been living with Joe, his foster parent, since being discovered a few months ago as a stray in the Santa Fe area. He’s three years old, a sturdy fella’ with handsome amber eyes and soft, short fur.
The next three photos were taken in the parking lot outside PetSmart while I was looking him over.
He’s alert, curious, and intelligent. Obviously in excellent health. Good disposition.
He’s affectionate and likes to be held. He’s well-behaved around dogs and people. Nice tail. Love those spots.
I think Reggie is adorable!
I wouldn’t have chosen his name, but it may grow on me. I don’t want to make any unnecessary changes until he’s comfortable and secure in his new home.
Right after we arrive back at camp, I set up the exercise pen.
I put Bridget and Reggie in it. I want them to be able to move freely around each other in order to become better acquainted, and I want to see how they interact.
Right away I can tell that Bridget knows he is part of our family. She treats him that way. And Reggie is comfortable with her.
Our first walk together around the campground is a success!
In the next post I’ll tell the story of finding Reggie and bringing him home. I’m too tired tonight to do a good job of it. Bridget and Reggie are zonked out on the bed after a very big day.
From what I’ve seen of Reggie so far, he has what it takes to be co-pilot on the canine crew!
Oh what a sweet little guy he is. Home at last!

THANK YOU FOR SHOPPING AMAZON FROM MY BLOG!
YAY!!!! Now I will go read.
Congratulations, Lisa W…. Numero Uno!
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S , he is beautiful !!!
My regards, Lucy.
Thank you, Lucy…
Beautiful pup! Congrats on the new crew member…
Thanks, John. He woke up and keeps kissing me!
I am very happy for 3 of you.
Those are gratitude kisses, I’m sure! Healthy! Handsome! Good choice!
Of course, never having had a dog, it’s only my guess that I’d have to name it in order to feel it is totally mine — you know, like it was with my newborn son! He (Reggie, that is) looks very cafe au lait. I’d name him Mocha. Bridgett and Reggie sound kind of alike when shouted — Bridgie!! Reggie!! Wow, have fun in all the new learning days!!! Happy for you three!!
You’ve never had a dog? I can’t imagine that. I’m guessing allergy.
Not due to allergy. Due to always being a renter (from birth to present) and apt. owners not allowing dogs. Today, luxury apt complexes build dog runs on their properties and allow dogs, but those properties are in the luxury category. Lived 17 yrs in mobile home park. Could have had dog there, but I knew the property was headed for redevelopment, and that I would relocate to city apartments, who only allow therapy dogs. Not qualified for that category, at least not THIS WEEK!!! So I live (the doggy life) thru you!!
I understand. It’s a pleasure to share the doggie antics of my life with you!
I think he is saying, “I waited so long for you and I’m so glad you came to get me!”
Congratulations you two. What a cute addition to your crew.
Don
Thanks, Don. He just got in trouble with Bridget who is under the covers trying to sleep. Reggie stepped on her which the Bridge did not appreciate.
Party foul! Yay!!, now I have to go back and meet Reggie!
🙂
FANTASTIC!!!!!!
So happy for all 3 of you!!
Thanks, Terri. Our family is complete again.
So cute…tears of joy!! Now I go back to read….
Oh my gosh, Denise. Reggie took a short nap and now he’s wide awake with big eyes, looking around like a toddler in the dark. I hope he doesn’t keep me up all night.
🙂
Oh, what a sweetie! He looks like he will be a tremendous addition to the crew. I really like his coloring. It is great that Bridget knows he is a member of the family. I am so happy for you!
Thanks, Lisa,
I like his coloring, too. I prefer predominantly white dogs. . . . obviously!
What a cute little guy! He’s perfect!
I kind of like his name. So happy for you! I can feel your excitement!
Chris B
I swear that I’ve seen this dog before. Yesterday after reading your post I Googled Las Vegas Humane Society. I picked Animal Foundation. Then I looked under small male dogs. I swear that Reggie was on there but I don’t remember the name. Then, today, when you mentioned Petsmart, I just went back to the website and they have an adoption center is Henderson. Is this the same dog? Funny if it is! 🙂
Thanks, Chris. I think he’s going to be great to have around. I adopted him from the Adopt a Rescue Pet organization. I’m not sure which website he’s been on.
Every time you hit a dead end, I would snoop around the internet to see what was available. Like you said, there sure are lots of pit bulls and chihuahuas! You must keep us posted on how his first night goes. Can’t wait to hear the whole story!
Will do!
Oh, Sue! Reggie is SO cute! Tears of joy… Bridget looks good with her little brother…they compliment each other. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!!! Love from me and Gracie pup! 🙂
Thanks, Denise and Gracie… It’s so nice to have my readers happy for us.
I am bawling my eyes out, I knew you would find each other today. Lots of love coming your way!
Thanks, DeAnne.
The little guy is restless right now. He can’t decide if he wants to sleep in the bed with Bridget and me or on the bed I made for him on the floor. I know where he will end up. 🙂
It’s normal for him to be restless @ present time, everything is new to him, it will take time for him to calm down & relax.
Beautiful pup, glad U & Bridget have him.
My regards, Lucy.
HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a happy day . . . What a grueling day it has been. Finally we’re home and all is well!
So happy for all 3 of you!!!!!!
Thanks, Chuck. Bridget and I needed a guy around the house.
So happy that there is a crew again. He looks perfect too. I think he’ll fit right in. It does pay to wait for what you want. Great job Sue and Bridget.
Thanks, phoneguy1212… I am glad I waited for Reggie. He’s a little smaller than I intended, but he’s sturdy. And now that I have him home, I like his size…
Yayy! Congrats to you and Big Sister Bridget! I love those cute spots too.
Hey and that sweater that’s too small for Bridget should be perfect for him; I bet he looks real handsome in blue.
Thanks, JanisP. I was thinking the same thing about the sweater. It should be a perfect fit. I don’t know when he’ll need it next though. Today was warm… in the 80s for sure.
Oh Sue !!Adorable!!!!So happy for you and Bridget!!Yeah!!!
Hi, Betty Shea… Thanks for the happy note!
Hi Sue,
Your new little guy is wonderful!! He is so cute. I am so excited for all of you!! Can’t wait to hear how you found him!!!
Thanks, Jolene . . .I had no idea I’d see him at PetSmart today. I hadn’t noticed him on the website.
Oh what a HAPPY DAY it is!!!! Your
family is complete again! I’m wiping
tears of joy as I type this! Congrats and
have a great night!
Thanks, Chaunte. . . . You have a great night, too. Reggie is sleeping on my lap as I type this.
Congrats! Looks like Reggie is making himself right at home 🙂
Thanks, Connie. Yes, Reggie is getting used to his new home. He loves walking the campground. He’s curious about everything…. Lots of puppy still in him!
Aw, he is PERFECT! Congratulations! What a little darling! So glad Bridget thought so too. So happy for this little guy to get a great home – he will love being a little traveling man with his human with him most of the time getting all the love and attention he deserves.
Hi, Jan…. He travels very well. Not nervous at all. He did try to sneak into my lap when I stopped at a red light. I can’t blame him for needing some security. It was a very hectic day, probably scary, too.
Oh, what a cutie!
Congratulations Sue & Bridget & Reggie!
I sent a prayer out to you just yesterday.
I am sooo glad for you.
Looking forward to see what the crew will be up to next. 😀
Thanks, Vicki and Kitty… Your prayer made it through…
I’m happy for you Sue! I like Reggie’s markings, they remind me of a dog named Patches.
I was leaving a Comment about cold remedies on your last post or I would have been first to Comment here. HA
Thanks, Ed . . . . Gosh, your desire to help another kept you from the coveted honor. In that is your reward.
I’m glad you approve Reggie’s markings. He wears the official Patches colors.
I am so HAPPY! Reggie is so handsome! AND Bridget accepts him YaY!!!! We are so excited for you! Can’t wait to see how he travels and adapts to your gypsy lifestyle!
Welcome to our world Reggie! Hug him good from me and Chuck! I love him already!
What a wonderful welcome Reggie is receiving…. Thanks for being a part of it.
Reggie will be a great crew member. His foster dad said that he likes marrow bones. I’d like to get him some, plus a few toys. He might be the kind that likes toys. Bridget couldn’t care less.
OMGosh! How awesome is this! Congrats, mama, on your new crew member. I love the name 😀
Thanks, Crystal… You do love your T@B, don’t you! 🙂
I’m getting used to the name Reggie…
Checked out your Flickr acct — wow, lots of mellow yellow cuteness!
Crystal do you have a blog? I looked at your photos – wowie! So beautiful. And I am intrigued by your adorable little yellow trailer! I would love to know more about it. I can’t afford to travel so do it all vicariously through great folks like RV Sue!
Yes, I’m head over heels in love with Daisy, my T@B. We’re entering our 6th season together. I don’t blog. We have a couple of T@B Facebook pages where I post. I haven’t uploaded photos to my Flickr account in quite some time. I also have an Instagram account.
I can’t wait to see the new crew member become acclimated to his life as a vagabond. I look forward to photos! Our dogs generally found us. Two were dropped in our neighborhood and found a home with us. We had four dogs at one time, and now only have the shih tzu that you see in my photos. My daughter moved out and took her lab, Leo. He visits 😀
Hi, I just come from Flickr checking out your photostream there. Was wonderful to see how you and your family love the Packers!!! My son and I are both seriously loyal Packer Fans! He went to the University of Wisc. so we have loved them for many years now. My husband, not so much, lol. He did his undergrad at the U of M in Vikings country. Yes, WE DO have that PACKERS/Vikings thang going on every football season. Of course I always win 😉
Safe travels to You and Yours. May the Road be good to you always!
p.s. left you a note on Flickr and FAV your T&B.
Oh no! Not the Vikes! Yikes! We have to travel through Bear country to tailgate in Green Bay. We’re in southern IL. We probably won’t be tailgating anymore because the space we rented from a motel has been purchased by Lambeau Field. Did you see my Packers v. Browns photo album? I won a contest after that game in the category of “Packers’ Coolest Wheels”. We have Aaron looking out the port hole window! That photo is in that album.
Congratulations Reggie! What an excellent adventure you have ahead of you!
Good pick, Sue. He’s a handsome little fellow. 🙂 Pat from Bulverde, Tx.
Thanks, Patricia. I agree. He is handsome and such a boy!
Congrats on your new crew member! He’s so handsome!
Thanks, Bette in Oklahoma City. . . . I like that he has easy-care fur and he’s soft and cuddly.
Congratulations to all three of you :))
Thanks, Marilu… Enjoy that pretty area…
How absolutely wonderful! He’s super cute.
Thanks, Teri. He needs Bridget to teach him some of the rules around here, like not standing on the table! 😉
Yahoo! Such a handsome young pup both look so comfortable So happy for the new family
Hi Carla… Thanks for stopping by with a note on our new boy…
This is happy news! Congratulations Sue and Bridget on the addition to your family. Wishing the three of you many happy years of exploring, frolicking and naps. 🙂
Thank you, Michael. This little guy has no idea… Oh, the places he will go!
Bridge and Reg — the truncated names work together. 🙂 I remember when a new little beast would come into our home (dog, cat, bird, guinea pig) mom would always exclaim with true joy: “Oh what a precious dumpling.” Now your special vagabonding family is whole again.
JJ
You like the name? Reggie seems like a big dog name to me… Maybe as I get to know him better he will grow into the name.
Reggie is a handsome boys name…….and he will be a lucky boy to join your family!
I’m so happy for you all!! Congratulations!!! 🙂
Thanks, Reina and Arrow. I’m happy I found him!
Happy, happy, happy dance!!! I cannot wait to see how his personalty emerges under your care and with Bridget as his sister! Welcome Reggie! You’ve no idea how lucky you are little guy!
Thanks, Deborah, for welcoming Reggie. It’s fun getting to know his personality. So far he’s been quiet. He has a calm spirit, yet he’s energetic. His little legs work like their motorized when walking on-leash.
Those little guys sure do have some quick feet once they get going! I watch my Picasso and I’m amazed at how quick those little legs can go!
I’ve been waiting with baited breath for this day and now I heaved a huge sigh of relief. He looks like a great crew member and I’m glad you held out for just the right guy.
Hi, Utah Bonnie…. Great to see you here again. Yes, Reggie is the right guy. I’m very happy with him.
Super Yay!!!!
He is adorable….I love the tiny little, ever-so-subtle fold in his ears.
You know…often the rescues randomly name their dogs….it might not be a name he likes. If YOU don’t like it…he might be giving you vibes that HE doesn’t like it.
Was that the name he had coming in?
Anyway, my daughter and soon-to-be-son-in-law renamed their dog after they rescues him by just randomly calling out names. He ignored every single one…until they called out, “Charlie.” Then, he suddenly turned his head and looked at them…so that’s his name!
Congratulations…Sue, Bridge and “Reggie!”
Thanks, Cindy,
He readily responds to Reggie, although he’s only had the name for a few months since his original name is unknown. Now everyone thinks of him as Reggie….
That’s a Heinz 57 mix. Lots of terrier, some Chihuahua, and who knows what’s up with the pink and the black spots around his nose!
Hi, Another Reader,
Black spots in the skin covered with white fur is common in rat terriers. Bridget has black spots. They’re small and don’t show through her fur. They’re more noticeable on her belly where the fur is thin.
Common in Jack Russell Terriers too.
He’s a beauty, best of luck with him!
Thank you, Fred. Nice to hear from you!
WHOO-PEEEE!!!!
Thanks for the cheer, Chuck!
Yay! What a fantastic day (I guess the no generators last night were a good sign :D).
Welcome to the new crew member! I bet he’ll be thrilled with whatever name you bestow upon him – dogs know when they are loved and “home” (but I understand why you are keeping the name Reggie — at least for now).
Happy, happy family 😀 😀
Hi, Pen…. Yes, a memorable day it was. That PetSmart was packed with dogs! I had no idea there would be so many. How those volunteers did work. I was very pleased how they treated me.
I bet Reggie got the largest welcome home of any dog adopted there yesterday!
A handsome little fellow indeed. Spike’s smiling down his approval. Good stuff:))
Thanks, Al. Reggie has big paw prints to fill. Spike would’ve liked him.
Oh, how sweet of you to mention Spike. He is still a part of this family!
So, so happy you found your new pup and that Bridget has already accepted him. What a good day and congratulations! I’m looking forward to all the new tales you will be telling us.
Thank you, Sheila. Nice to see you here!
I’ll be opening up the Canine Corner again. I’m sure Reggie and Bridget have things they need to “say” to each other. 😉
I’ll be reading that — like Bridget’s tips on how to avoid the camera.
I’ll be waiting for the Canine corner. I always enjoyed that.
He’s a cutie – congratulations on your little party colored new family member!! Glad Bridget approves too. 🙂
Hi, texcyn…. thanks! Gee, Reggie is bringing people out of lurkdom. Good to see you here again…
Woo hoo! Welcome to the crew and blog Mr Reggie! We all loved you before we knew who you were!
What a sweet thing to write, Velda. Thanks for welcoming our boy.
So glad you found him. We thought of you when we passed the Humane Center in Barstow today. He is really cute.
Thanks, lindale. I hope Reggie coming to live with us will inspire others to adopt a rescue pup… and to consider adding a pal to a single-pup family.
Did they ask for a donation? Sometimes they ask more for a puppy while you are in the aren’t-they-cute mode.
No, they didn’t ask for a donation.
I’m excited! He is adorable, Sue. How wonderful that Bridget likes him. I’m sure she will be making sure that he knows who is boss. 🙂
Thanks, Jenny.
I put a folded blanket on the floor by my feet in case Reggie preferred to sleep on the floor instead of the bed. Well, Bridget came out from under the covers and jumped down to sit on the blanket. She’s never wanted to sleep on the floor. She just wanted to show Reggie that she COULD have the blanket if she wanted it.
That scenario is over… Both pups are asleep again … in the bed.
Hah hah! On the first night!
Oh Happy Day !!!!
It certainly is! Thanks for joining the welcoming party, Janis!
Oh Sue, I am so happy for you! He looks like a perfect addition to the crew! I thought maybe you were partial to a tan dog, after Butters. Just love his coloring and spots. And it is so great Bridge is being nice with him. And you made it through Las Vegas safely. I knew you would. Now you can find a nice campsite and spend some time bonding with your new crew member. Perfect.
Thanks, Ginger. I’m glad you think he’s perfect. Las Vegas was easy! I think it’s easier than Yuma which always seems to confuse me…
We will stay in this campground for a few more days, maybe longer. I want to give Reggie time to feel secure with us before changing his environment.
I agree. When I moved to Las Vegas I had no trouble getting oriented. Plus it has really wide streets for good traffic flow. I also find ?Yuma difficult and confusing.
He is just perfect! His coloring is beautiful! Can’t wait to hear about his first few days adjusting to his new family! Welcome Reggie!
Thanks, Laurie…. I like his markings very much. He has very tender eyes, if that makes sense… He’s a sensitive guy.
So very, very happy for you Sue! My tears for you are happy tears this time. What a wonderful day this is. Enjoy your new little boy!
Thank you, Lyn… What a nice comment… There has been such a big vacancy in our lives. Reggie fills up that space.
Congratulations Sue & Bridgit. What a cutie he is.
Thank you, Val R. …. He was rolling around on his back, squiggling in the covers, before falling asleep. So cute!
Oh he must be SO happy. And yet…little does he know just *how* big a jackpot he hit today!
Yes he did Sidewinder Pen! He hit the Mega Jackpot!
Oh the experiences he’s going to have! I’m so excited
for all three of them! I reread the post and have read
all the comments today and am still crying tears of
joy. He went from no family at all to this. He will have more of a life than some of us dream about. He is one lucky pooch!!! and since all of the blogorinos love him too, his little heart is going to be filled to capacity and overflow!
Chaunte
🙂
Congrats on finding Mr Right! Hello Reggie!
What a sweetie pie! Bridge seems to be okay with him!
Everyone should sleep well tonight!
I wouldn’t be surprised if Spike shows up tonight..in some way, shape or form to let you know he is happy for Bridge and you.
Welcome to your forever home, Reggie! No doubt you will acclimate and love your lifestyle!
Hi, Cinandjules… Thanks for that warm welcome for Reggie. Spike came to my mind several times today. I need to let him go. And now he can.
Spike will rest easy knowing that your hearts have healed AND that there is a man in your household.
Forever in your heart.
Wow! What a feel good day this post from you has done for all your readers. I had a big smile just reading about Reggie.
Welcome home, Reggie!
Thank you, Rick, for that enthusiastic welcome for Reggie. This is a happy day. It will be fun getting to know him and to share his personality.
Reggie just hit the lottery! He is in for the adventure of his life. Congratulations on a great match! Can’t wait to read more about him.
Thanks, Bev. It will be fun to write about Bridget and Reggie. I’m sure they will make stories for me to tell!
So far, it sounds like alpha dog scenarios are going on. That should be amusing to watch!
Terrific Sue and Miss Bridget! You have found your boy! What a cutie he is!
Share your love of Rv’ng…. It is a great life that so many enjoy with and without
a canine of feline companion!
Thanks, Elizabeth… Yes, it is a great life, however one goes about it!
Well, at least someone I “know” left Las Vegas with the jackpot. 🙂 Congratulations. He looks like a keeper.
Thanks, robinb . . . . In this case, what happens in Vegas will not stay in Vegas… Reggie is going on the road!
So happy so happy so happy!!! He is adorable. Thank you for saving a life! Looks like Jack Russell and Chihuahua to me. Spunky and loveable.
Hi, Marcia… Thank you. I see Jack Russell in him also. He has the sturdy frame of a Jack, only smaller because of the chihuahua …
Congratulations on the addition to the family….can not help but think that Spike is pleased as well.. he would want you to be well cared for and that’s a big job for one dog- even Bridgett. 🙂 My crew of Music and Violet and I send our best wishes and happy tails to you all!
Thank you, Sally, Music, and Violet for that sweet message. Our crew is complete again…
I let out a shout of joy when I saw your blog today. How wonderful for all three of you to have found each other. He is such a handsome fellow. Your family is complete today. Rest up . Reggie…I love the name.
Hi, Judith… Thank you for sharing our joy! I was beginning to think I’d never find him. . . .
To have a dog is to know what unconditional love is. Happy dance times two.
Hi, Larry G in AR…. I’d being doing a happy dance but I’m too dang tired! It’s been a long, emotional day…. Tomorrow we’ll have fun together.
Reggie is absolutely adorable!! Appears he will be yours & Bridges new best friend! Awaiting the story of your search!
Hi, Lois Joy… Thank you! I’ll be sure to tell the story of this day. I’d like to have a record of this new chapter opening for the three of us…
So pleased for you!
Thanks, John!
Yay! Congrats Sue and Bridget! He is really cute. And I’m not just saying that because his face looks like my dog Kora! He is lucky to be a part of your family!!
Thanks, Kelley…. Now I know what Kora looks like. 🙂
He looks as sweet as Tupelo honey,Sue,it’s so heartwarming that he’s home, and that the three of you are home together.I hope you rest well with whatever sleep you’re able to get, thankfully you are going to have your hands full now, literally.I’m very happy for you.
Hi, weather… Thank you. Yes, my hands are full now and so is my heart. He’s precious, sleeping beside me as I type this.
Fantastic news, Sue.
He is a handsome little guy.
So happy for you.
Thanks, Robert. I’m happy to have found him.
congratulations on the new co-pilot!
Thanks, Kay. Bridget needs to train him for the job!
Congratulations! Last Friday I had to say goodbye to my own little Jack Russell mix who was about 16 y/o. I look forward to the day that I meet with my own little Reggie-boy, and bring him home. May joy and happiness await you all!
PamelaJ
Oh, Pamela, how terribly sad and difficult for you. I’m sorry…. Thank you for the congratulations.
In the midst of all this outpouring of joy I just have to say how sorry I am for your loss Pamela J.
Oh, Pamela… what a sad time. I’m so sorry. It sounds like you have a lot of love to share with another lucky dog (when the time is right).
Pamela J
Saddened to hear about your loss.
So sorry to hear of your loss!! Hope you can find what you need in the future when the time is right (been now going on 5 yrs for us…and we are not yet quite ready…but maybe ere long…)
Pamela, so sorry for your loss. May you meet again across the Rainbow Bridge someday.
So sorry for your loss. Pamela.
Pamela, there are many furry friends out there just hoping to get adopted and have a furever home! I am sorry for the loss of your long time friend, but happy that you honor him with thoughts of adopting another dog and making the new one feel as loved and safe as your jack felt! Thank you.
Awwww! So happy for all of you to be together! xoxox
Thank you, Linda. Finally we’re together!
So happy for you, Sue! Congratulations to Reggie and Bridget too in your expanded family. Wishing you many wonderful travels together in the days ahead.
Thank you, Sharon. I’m looking forward to our travels. I know I haven’t been fully appreciating our surroundings these past few months, feeling incomplete and distracted, a bit off-center.
Sharon,
Are you from the St. Louis area?
Lucky Dog!
Yes, he is… Lucky in Las Vegas…
Someone told me one time after I rescued my dog (Booger) that he didn’t know how lucky he was, but I told them I was the lucky one. I’m sure you both (all three) feel lucky today. I can’t imagine travelling without mine, and he’s right at home in the cab of the truck or the T@B. Many Happy Trails.
Now there is a good name for him, “Lucky” because he is so lucky you found him and save him!
Don’t get me wrong, I like Reggie, but when I read your words ” lucky in Las Vegas”, the name Lucky just resonated with me!
Every time I hear about a dog named Lucky I can’t help but recall the Lost & Found ad – Lost: male dog, has one eye, mangled left ear, paralyzed hind leg, crooked tail. Answers to the name, ‘Lucky’.
Oh dear.
Oh he is so cute!!! Very happy for you 🙂
Tinabeane
Thank you, Tinabeane! I love him… and Bridget, too!
Adding my congratulations on finding the perfect addition to your crew. Oh, the adventures ahead! Reggie, Bridget, and Sue off to see the world together.
Thank you, Kitt…. How wonderful it is to have you and all my readers ready to share our adventures. 🙂
What a beautiful pup. Maybe he will bring out the mother in Bridget.
I guess you will be getting out of vegas soon now that your reason for being there is a success. I hear the call of the wild crying your name. 🙂
Thanks, Alan. Shocking as this sounds coming from me, the hermit boondocker… I like it here! Las Vegas is easier to drive around in than many smaller towns are.
The rocks between the campground and the city call out to a camera! Gorgeous! As for our campsite, it’s working out fine for us.
That is great. Take some time to get to know Reg and enjoy. You have all the time you want. It will all be there when you are ready.
See…maybe you didn’t see my earlier post but I said Las Vegas traffic isn’t bad, off the Strip. The roads are really wide and the town is laid out well. Really easy to get around, IMHO. One of my favorite things when I lived there.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO SUE, That Reggie is one nice lookin’ pup and of course Bridget will love him too, Timber says that’s a smart lookin’ Boy,,,, good for you and now a full crew,,,,,,,,,,,,,, me
Hi, Rusty. . . . . Isn’t he handsome? Maybe Reggie will become Timber’s pal… You know, boys playing together. Bridget just isn’t that kind of dog. Already Timber thinks he’s smart-lookin’!
He is just an awesome looking little guy with those brown patches and perky ears. And that cute curly tail….I bet he’s at least part chihuahua…lol
What a great find, for all three of you. What a fun post to read!! I hope he didn’t keep you up all night and saved all of his “business” for outside.
Thank you for the compliments for Reggie. You notice some of his “selling points.” 🙂
No “accidents” so far!
OMGosh! Reggie looks like my Ralphie and about the same size LOL So cute!! Both my little dogs are white with brown spots…although you can’t see Chowder’s spots until he is groomed with shorter hair. Chowder’s ears are brown and the rest of him looks white until he gets a hair cut for summer…then his brown spots show up. Chowder is longer haired while Ralphie is short wiry hair. We adopted Chowder from my granddaughter who moved to Alaska and we found Ralphie as a wee pup huddled next to our fence. We couldn’t find the owner (but we believe he was dumped in the park across the street) so we just kept him. Ralphie is about three years old now and Chowder is about 7 years old. So glad you finally found Reggie and I’m sure he’ll be very happy in his new home and family.
Thanks, Rita. A Ralphie look-alike! Well, I have to say… Your Ralphie is a cutie. I bet Chowder is, too.
Mr. Reggie is a cutie! Congratulations to finding a sweet co-pilot. He looks like a very happy guy!
Thank you, Monica. Reggie is catching on fast to how we live. He’s has the makings for an excellent co-pilot!
Fantastic!
Yes! I looked from Globe, AZ across the state to Yuma… Coachella, CA. all the way to Palm Springs… back to AZ… Parker, Lake Havasu City… and found him in Las Vegas, NV!
Jackpot!!!!! He is a handsome young man!
He is adorable. The name Reggie fits him to a T. His stance looks like it came out of a dog competition photo op. I am so glad your family is whole once more.
Thanks, Doug, for you kind comment. He does stand like a champion!
YIPPY Sue!!!
I knew it… remember I said I got a feeling you would find your baby. Wow he is adorable too! He looks smart and he’ll catch on to how you run the camp and he’ll fit right in. So happy for you and Bridget. warm hug! Deb and Rosie and Lily send their congrats on the new lucky pup.
Thanks, Deb, Rosie, and Lily……On the way driving back to camp, I thought, “Deb was right!”
Absolutely darling!!!! I am thrilled for you and the crew!!!!
Thanks, Ida, for sharing my excitement. I got my boy!
Oh I am SO excited for you and Reggie and Bridget! I can’t wait to read the story of how you found him. Blessings abound!
Hi, Julie…. Thanks for being a part of Reggie’s welcome home. Won’t it be fun getting to know him!
I am so happy for you. Reggie is adorable.
Thanks, Jan. He seems to gain cuteness as time passes!
Enjoy.
Thank you, Beverly in NS…. Nova Scotia? 🙂
Call me sexist or paternalistic or whatever you want to call me, but I think Spike is up there right now, looking down and so happy that there’s a new man in the house to take care of you and the Bridge. And the man is oh so handsome!!!
Thanks, Cynthia…. For those who think a dog is a dog and it doesn’t matter whether male or female… There’s a different atmosphere around here now that a guy is in our home!
Arlo, Zoe and I add our congratulations to all the others .
There were a lot of good wishes for a successful hunt today, and you did it! Your braving all the traffic paid of for sure!
If Reggie doesn’t do it for you, you will find a new name for him…when we brought Arlo home he was unnamed puppy four, he became Arlo when my husband to him he was cute but you sure “are low”! So he became Arlo!
Great naming story! Made me smile.
Thanks for the congratulations, Lee J., and for the good wishes that brought the three of us together.
That is a great story about Arlo… 🙂 It reminds me of what my father used to say about my younger sister when she was about three or four. He’d say, “What’s your name, little girl?” And she’d say, as she did very often, “I’m hungry!”
What an adorable new family member!! He looks like he has a fun personality.
I’m glad Bridget likes her new brother.
I just got back from camping on the beach in Los Frailes, Baja. Could only spend 2 weeks so flew down to meet my husband.
Remember my old cat died there last year and is buried under a tree near where we camp every year. Carmen, my new cat, celebrated her first birthday last week down there.. She was great on the plane. And she loved playing in all that sand!
We love our pets. They sure add to the quality of our life. I will enjoy seeing your Reggie enjoying his new life with you.
Thank you, Penny… I agree, Reggie is adorable.
The circle of life… Happy Birthday to Carmen, the beach kitty!
good things come to those who wait….great looking pup….be safe..
You’re right, Ron…. although my patience was running out. Thank you. You be safe, too.
Woohoo! So happy for you and Bridget! Congrats!
Thanks, Debbie. This is a special time for us…
Oh so sweet! Welcome Reggie. Miss Bridget has her work cut out for her. She will have him trained in no time. So happy for you Miss Sue and Miss Bridget. Now it will be easier when you run into the store and have to leave Bridget in the van. She will have someone to wait with her.
Thanks for welcoming Reggie, Libby. Good to see you here again!
I will feel better not having to leave the Bridge alone in the PTV. I’m hoping Reggie’s quiet nature will rub off on her, rather than Bridget teaching him to bark when I leave to go in the store.
Yippee!! and Congratulations!! to all of you. You’ve been waiting a long time for this day, and Reggie has been waiting, too. I’m so pleased to hear this news. Reggie is a very handsome fella, and it sounds like he’s fitting right in. Big news indeed!
Thanks, Renee… The wait is finally over! Both pups have had their breakfast and are into morning naps… Our regular routine resumes… 🙂
Had a feeling you would find him today, and very happy for you and Bridget. He is just toooo cute. Glad Bridget likes him. Give them both a hug for me. Can’t wait to read about you finding him and the new adventures with a young pup. As cute as he is, he seems like he will stir things up in the days to come.
Again, I am so happy and excited for you.
Thanks, Barbara…. Oh yes, Reggie is making his presence known. I’m wearing “eau de pup kisses” today.
GREAT NEWS!!!! Reggie is a little doll. He is gonna be a great addition to you and Bridget. You couldn’t have done better. I look forward to hearing the story of how you came upon little Reggie. I know this has been constantly on your mind for months so now you can relax and just enjoy your little family and your adventures. I am so happy for you Missy….
Thanks, Jim…. At last! He’s here! Yes, I have been distracted the past few months with the search for this guy.
When planning to search Las Vegas, I had the choice of camping in a campground on the west side or here on the east side. If I had chosen the other campground, I probably would have gone to a different PetSmart, one closer to it, rather than the one where Reggie was.
You were guided where to go. I’m relieved and very happy.
Congrats on completing the crew. Reggie is definitely cute and looks bigger than I thought when I saw his face in the first picture. I look forward to reading all the details about how he joined the family and how old he is and all that stuff. I know you’ll rest easier (if not interrupted) tonight.
Thank you, Reine. He does look like a big dog in that photo. Even the ones that follow make him look big because there isn’t anything else to serve as a reference. Then seeing him in the pic with Bridget… He’s not so big after all!
Congratulations to all of you!! Reggie is a lucky boy and to adjust so easily is marvelous! He is a handsome boy! Can’t wait to hear details. I am enjoying your travels and photos and your beautiful use of words.
Thanks, Pauline. Reggie is the kind of dog who is quick to show love. He wanted to climb into my lap on the way home.
Reggie must have had terrific foster parents who taught him good manners and kept him socialized. I have always been thankful for the fostering my Rosie had before I found her.
His foster Dad is Joe and he took excellent care of Reggie. While going through the long procedures involving paperwork, tag engraving, making payment, buying dog food, etc. I let Joe hold Reggie for the last time.
Joe has four other dogs he is fostering. One of them has cancer and has had a tough life, bounced out of two adoptions after years in those homes (People are cruel.)… Joe is giving that dog the best life possible in the time that remains.
Congratulations to Sue, Bridget and Reggie!!! The tales of the new crew begins!!!
Thanks, Teresa…. The canine crew is in full force!
Good news! I’m happy for you…
Thanks, Rob. It’s fun to share my happiness here.
So happy for you all!!!!! Enjoy!
Thanks, Wendy. Reggie will add to our “enjoying life more!”
What a sweetheart! Congratulations on the new family member! So happy for you.
Thanks, Lana. He is a sweetheart… loves to kiss!
Oh, Sue, SOOOO happy for you & Bridget. Welcome Reggie! You have no idea how many new friends you just inherited.
🙂
Hi, Kathy and Gil…. Thank you…. It’s amazing really. This little guy, who doesn’t weigh as much as my purse, is receiving attention from all over the country and even around the world. Ha!
Congrats! Great addition to your crew. Love the markings. Looks like Reggie is right at home.
Thanks, Deb D…. Yep, Reggie has moved into the BLT to stay!
I’m so happy for you Aunt Susan!! Although I would feel better if you would let me give you a couple of Rottweilers! Then I know you would be safe! Reggie is very cute! He doesn’t know how lucky he is. Every day will be a great adventure for him. I’m glad yall found each other! I love you to the moon! As always, I’m just a phone call away!
Dear, sweet, loving Tawnya…. I know you are truly happy for us. Thanks for dropping in here…
It’s nice to know you are only a phone call away, although I never use the phone…. Oh yeah, me walking two Rottweilers on-leash around the campground. That would be hilarious, probably would end up being kicked out of here!
Awwww so happy for you. Reggie looks like a sweet heart.. Many Blessings for you ALL!!!!
Thanks for sending us blessings, Joan. Reggie will have a good life.
Oh Sue so happy for you….all of you!! He is a darling looking dog and with such bright intelligent looking eyes!! Maybe it helps that he is a big smaller than Bridget, as to how she feels about him? I am so happy you have a cuddly one….and so small so cuddling ought to be often!! I was hoping all would go well today and remembered to ask GOD to help you with that traffic!! I feel that kind of pain!!
Thanks, Elizabeth, for that prayer…. It was smooth all the way to PetSmart…Hardly any traffic.
I love him already. He has beautiful flop over ears. Onward to new adventures!
Reggie does have cute ears. I hope they stay that way. Bridget started out with button ears. Then in one day they pointed up and stayed that way. Of course, I love her ears, too.
My little guy Bubba is a lot more affectionate than his big sister Casey, he likes to make out 🙂 Have fun with your new little man (less trouble than the two legged men).
Congratulations!
Thanks, Shelley… Bubba… What a fun name! Bubba and Casey… They sound like trouble. Haha!
Sue,
I am soo happy for you and Bridget and Reggie!!! Congratulations. He looks like a real sweetie and has NO idea just how lucky he is. :). Happy happy happy dance!!!
Thanks, Edie… This boy is full of sweetness! He makes a good match for Bridget who, we all know, brings some needed dignity to our home.
He is precious! Congratulations to all of you!
Thanks, Colleen. All dogs are precious, and especially the ones you love…
That is one of the cutest dogs EVER! So happy you found a new doggo.
What a great thing to say about Reggie! Thanks, Allison.
Congrats! He’s just beautiful!
Nina
Thank you, Nina. 🙂
What good news, so glad you found your new crewmember.
Such a cutie too.
Enjoy!
Thanks, AJ. I couldn’t wait to share our good news yesterday!
I think Reggie is just perfect to complete the “Crew”. Spike will guide him to the best soaking spots. Lucky, lucky Reggie! Happiness for you all.
Mick, I was thinking tonight, as I read all the welcomes and mentions in remembrance of Spike, that one day soon Reggie will do something that particularly reminds Sue of Spike, and she will know Spike is still spreading his love and influence over his crew.
Thanks, Mick. I think he’s perfect, too!
Jagger and I are so happy for you and your crew. CONGRATULATIONS! He looks like he will fit right in.
Thanks, Gary and Jagger…. Funny, one of the dogs I considered a few weeks ago is named Jagger… I was disappointed then, but I’m not now!
He seems a perfect fit. I can tell from here he has spunk. However he came to you, I can tell you are a happy camper. On to new adventures with Reggie as part of the “crew”.
Thanks,, Ed. The crew is complete…. and now Bridget has a spunky co-pilot to keep in line!
Yes!!! I’m so happy for you and Bridget. What a sweet little fellow. He has just found the best home ever!
I will try my best to give him the home that he deserves. Thanks, Glinda.
This certainly made my evening. I love Reggie… and I also love the name. Short for Reginald, of course… very posh name for that classy little boy. As someone else mentioned, Bridge and Reg sound good together.
Love those big brown eyes… perky ears… and tail curling up behind. So glad that you all finally found each other.
Thanks, Connie and Mugsy… Reggie is easy to love. And you approve of the name! 🙂
Congratulations! What a cutie
Thank you, Karen. Reggie came to us from New Mexico. Poor guy was wandering around, lost.
He looks like a “Reggie”. Keep the name. Glad you got your little boy. 😉
Thanks, Rhonda… So the name fits? I probably will let him keep that name.
Welcome home Sweetie!!
Thank you, Millie. Good to see you here on this special occasion…
A new chapter in the RV Sue travel story…. ! And it appears that Bridget approves…. So the battle is all over but the story telling, so let that begin… Anyway congratulations to the entire crew….
Congrats to you and Bridget on your new family member! He looks adorable and I’m sure will fit in perfectly. He has the same brown spots as my Jack Russell and I think he looks like a Reggie. He’s a lucky little dog, glad you all found each other.
Thanks, Glenda. Those brown spots do give him the Jack Russell “look.” I think he has some Jack energy, too!
I am so excited for you and Bridget. Reggie is so cute! I had a feeling today was going to be the big day for a new crew member. I don’t usually get the email notification until late in the evening and I have been busy packing for the Green Eggs Casita Rally in Alabama. I think Reggie is going to be a perfect fit in your little family. Looking forward to all the details of his adoption.
Hi, IGMom… Thanks for sharing our excitement at Reggie’s arrival to his new home. Have a great time at the rally!
Yay. He’s gorgeous.
Thanks, Heda… The adoption center at PetSmart had a large number of beautiful dogs of all kinds of breeds. There were puppies, too… a litter of Border Collie/Blue Heeler mixes. All the puppies were adopted and lots of adult dogs went off to their new homes. It was crazy commotion…
Oh my….blue heeler/border collie mix….my favorite…I would not have been able to go look and not gotten one!!
Big rewards………prayers worked!
Hi, Shirlene… Thanks…. “Ask and ye shall receive”… 🙂
Sue, 🙂 🙂 🙂
Way to go! You done good! You sure put in a lot of effort just to keep us blogerinos rapt. Reggie seems like a fine name. Perhaps you could give him a middle name for when he’s in trouble, you know like when our moms called both our names we knew we were gonna git it. Any chance Spike’s black suit fits him? I hope Bridget will take turns spooning with you. So are you going to add another column in your finances for Reggie’s toys? Ha Ha. You’re gonna hafta take a family selfie for us. I hope you get some rest between all the fun and games and being woken up by doggie kisses.
Wheeeeeeeeee!
Maple Valley Gal
Thanks Maple Valley Gal…. I’m trying to recall having a dog that enjoyed toys… None of them did much, not Spike nor Bridget. I should have picked up a few while at PetsMart. After a full day around camp, I’ll go into town (Vegas) first thing in the morning while it’s still cool and hit Wal-Mart’s dog toy department.
You have made my day. Reggie is so cute! I wish you many happy years and adventures with your precious little family. It always bring a smile to my face when a furry friend finds a family.
Hi, Karla… Reggie made your day and mine! I’m watching Bridget and Reggie right now as I type this. They’re in the exercise pen right outside the side window. It’s a beautiful day. . . . Thanks for the good wish.
Congratulations to all three of you! Reggie is a very good-looking little guy–glad that Bridget has welcomed him to your family. Three cheers for rescue dogs! I just can’t shake the image of a children’s book about love & acceptance with dreamy little watercolors of Bridge & Reggie. Have fun!
Hi, Dawn… Thank you. Rescue dogs are the best! I have been showered with grateful kisses.
Oh how wonderful! Joy in the crew. Love his spots! Hugs to all!!
Hi, Tina…. Thanks… I love a dog with spots!
Happy Day! Reggie looks like a perfect addition to the crew. Great that Bridget has accepted him into the compound. Will he replace Spike? Nope, never! But he will bring you love & happiness. So soooo happy for you 🙂
Thanks for sharing our happiness, Patti. Reggie is who he is and he’s perfect!
Adding my congrats to the happy threesome. You’ll be busy having a youngster in the house now. It will be fun to follow along as he gets you in line :-))))) Truly happy for you.
Thanks, Jodee…. I had forgotten how much fun a young dog can be… and how much attention they require. 🙂
Congratulations to the newest addition to your camper family. Reggie looks awesome. I can’t wait to hear what Bridget has to say about all this in a future canine corner episode. Good luck and happy trails to you all.
Thank you, Karen… Already canine conversations are rolling around in my head when I look at these two.
I just knew, with your patience to find the right family member, this day would bring home a special pup. I’ve been a follower of yours for years, and enjoy all of your stories of your lifestyle. I am really looking forward to getting to know Reggie, how he and Bridget interact, and I’m sure we’ll laugh with all the antics. Happy for you and Bridget.
Beverly… If I’ve never welcomed you, I do so now. Great to see you here! Thank you for reading my blog for years. I appreciate that. And thanks for sharing our happiness…
Congratulations. What a sweet little face he has.
Hi, Marsha… Thank you for the congrats and the compliment for Reggie. 🙂
Congratulations Sue and Bridget! What an adorable new crew member.
Hi, katydid…. Thank you… Reggie is a little cuddle-bug!
I see that you have so many congratulatory messages…..but I still had to add mine. I was in tears just reading the title. I am so happy for you & Bridget!…..and for little Reggie. Boy oh boy did he ever luck out! Love from VA! MB, Hazel, Wyndy, Bella and Sissy
Thank you, MB, Hazel, Wyndy, Bella and Sissy…. Those tears were created, in part, by the happy times we had with Spike and the sorrow we shared at his passing. Now the time has come for Reggie to assume co-pilot responsibilities. 🙂
Beautiful! We can feel the love all the way in Louisiana. We all shed a tear for Spike and shed a few more for Reggie. Let the good times roll!!!
Sweet message, Ray. I feel love coming into the BLT. What a tremendous welcome Reggie is receiving! Thank you for sharing our sad times and our happy times.
Hi Reggie, I think you found a great home … adventure awaits!
Thanks, Bob!
Wow! He’s adorable!
I’m happy you think so, Marie…. Thank you.
Let me add to the chorus of congratulations on the new crew member!! He is adorable and very photogenic….. Can’t wait to hear how your first night went (did you get any sleep?) and the story of his adoption.
-Another Sharon from MO
Oh, you’re a Sharon, too! I’ll try to remember (but probably won’t!)… Thank you for the congrats!
What a wonderful addition to your family! Reggie is so blessed to have found his forever home with you and Bridget.
Hi, Debbie…. Great to see you here, always room for another Deb! Thank you for your message.
Gotta add my congratulations to you too! You said in one of the comments that Reggie sounds like a big dog name. Spike sounded like a big dog name too. I think Reggie works for your new fella. He has a big personality! He’s also so damn cute and handsome at the same time!
So happy for you all! 🙂
Thanks, Sherri D…… Good point. Spike is a name that’s often given a bulldog type or a big dig. Spikey soon earned his big-dog name, and Reggie will, too!
Congratulatuons to all 3 of you. Our pets are our family. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures.
You’re welcome, Judi, and thanks for the congratulations. Nice to hear from you!
Woo! Hoo! So cute!
Thanks, Bill and Ann…. I think Reggie will like meeting Julie and Sammy someday.
So happy for you and Bridget! Reggie looks and sounds like a good boy!
Hi, Piper…. Thanks for stopping by with a comment. So far Reggie has been very good!
congratulations. reggie looks very thoughtful and swet. happy for you and bredget.
when we adopted dogs with names we didn’t prefer, we would call the dog by the old name and name we wanted together. eventually we would stop adding the old name.
Thanks, ja…. That’s an interesting method. I didn’t think of using two names. I think the name Reggie is already accepted by the blogorinos…. 🙂
Made my day seeing you’ve found what your heart was searching for – and as Reggie will soon discover, he has, too. Best of everything to you all, and looking forwarding to hearing the story of finding Reggie.
Hi, Noelle…. I probably won’t work on the next post until later today. I took a few more photos this morning while we were walking the campground. Thanks for stopping by…
So happy for you! It has been a long, tiring search, but now you can get to know your new crew member and get back to ‘enjoying it more’! He’s a cutie!
Thanks, Lolalo…. Yes, I was really sick of looking at websites and sending emails and having my hopes rise and then be dashed… It was worth it though!
Welcome home, Reggie!
Sue, your heart must be in its most contented place since Spike’s passing.
Congratulations, special lady and special crew.
Bridgy and Reggie and who??? Suzie! Sorry…I could not resist, girl! LOL Love to ya!
Thank you, Diann, for giving Reggie a warm welcome and congratulations to us all. Yes, I still have moments of missing Spike. Having Reggie join us helps.
Didn’t get the notice of the new post until this morning and already there are 253 comments!! Everyone is so excited about Reggie and I am right there with them. He is so cute!!!! It looks like he immediately became part of the family and I am so happy for the 3 of you! Thanking the Lord for answered prayer
Give Reggie and Bridget a hug from Aunt Pauline.
Sending lots of love and hugs to you too.
Hi, Pauline….. It looks like there will be as many happy messages for Reggie as there were sad messages for Spike. This is an exceptionally fine group of followers . . . .
Thank you for your prayers, love, and hugs. Love you, too!
Sue
What a cutie pie. You will probably get used to his name. When we got our new Yorkie a year ago she was named Patsy and I thought it was not the right name but now it seems right. The guy we got her from named her Patsy for Patsy Cline [sp] and her mother was Tina for Tina Turner. Look forward to all the new updates on the new crew member, Hope he likes to do a little blogging.
Hi, Darlene… I’m putting Bridget in charge of teaching Reggie the ropes, and that includes contributing to the Canine Corner. I can see a Yorkie named Patsy… 🙂
Congrats and what a handsome little guy! Reggie is quite a fortunate dog. Travelling around the country with a great crew, he will have it better than most of us! 🙂
Now I can’t wait to find out if he likes to sit on the edge of rivers and lakes!!!
G
Thanks, G….. Whether Reggie likes the water or not, I’m sure we will find out what his favorite activities are. I will introduce him to wading.
Congrats Reggie on finding the best mom and sister you could have ever hoped for. May you have a long and happy life with your new family.
Sue he is so cute!
Happy and safe travels.
We hope to be out fishing and camping in the next few weeks.
That’s a wonderful wish for us, Michelle. Thank you.
Fishing and camping… Oh, I remember how much you both enjoyed your trips last year. I am so happy for you. I think it’s fantastic that you have the rig to take you on your own adventures! Enjoy!
Reggie’s Bedtime Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep,
The Casita bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove,
My human being can hardly move.
I’ve trapped her legs,
she’s tucked in tight,
and here is where I pass the night.
No one disturbs me or dares intrude,
Til morning comes and I want food.
I sneak up slowly and it begins,
My nibbles on my human’s chin.
she wakes up slowly and smiles and shouts, “You darling beast! Just cut it out!”
But morning’s here and its time to play,
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord, for giving me,
this human person that I see
The one who holds me tight
and shares her bed with me at night!
Unknown Author & Florida Scott
That is such a sweet little poem… I am so stealing it. Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful poem! It fits Sue and crew perfectly! If you are the unknown author or not, this poem could not have been better!
Aww, a poem for Reggie to commemorate his arrival into our home. Thank you, Florida Scott. That’s nice.
I am so happy for the three of you, Welcome to the Family Dear Little Reggie!
Thank you, Gail. The shelter in Buckeye is one that I kept my eye on. . . .
I could not be happier for you, Bridget and Reggie! By the way, I really like the name Reggie. It suits him. Like some others, I thought I would change my dog’s name once I took him home but he answered to it and now I like it too.
Thanks, Joanne. Yes, I’m beginning to see how the name suits him. Like any middle school teacher, after several years of teaching, there’s hardly a name in existence that doesn’t have a student attached to it, for good or bad. 😉 I’m learning to like his name.
So glad you found the little guy. As far as name changing, here is what we learned. We have two rescue cocker spaniels. Babe came with her name. I did not like it but was afraid that changing it would be to hard on her, so we left it, and I still feel silly calling her Babe. Our second rescue was found roaming the streets, so had no name. We just started calling him Beau, for boy, as we were only going to foster. (yea, right) He quickly responded to Beau. Didn’t seem to bother him a bit. So, I think if you want to change his name, you will not have to spend money down the line for doggy psychiatrists!
Hi, Cathie… Thank you… Good to see you here again!
Yeah, Babe is a tricky name. Not all dogs would wear it well. I use it as a nickname…
What A lucky dog, now he will have a life full of adventure and love. Welcome Reggie!
Thanks, Willow. I can see that Reggie needs more to occupy himself. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a youngster in the house. I need to get him some toys and bones to play with.
Yes I know, my new little dog Tula has made a big difference in my life. Now I catch myself stopping at the dog toy section at the grocery store, I’m like a new mommy. She is at the door to meet me when I come home, I always have a happy homecoming now.
YAY!!!! WHAT A CUTE BOY!!! Oh yes, I see some Chihuahua in there… which I NEVER wanted one… but that is what my Racy is. Loyal and kind, but don’t mess with the foodies 🙂 that is my boy…
Congrats Sue! And Reggie and Bridget too!
Hugs from Hoquiam,
Barb
Hi, Barb…. Thanks for the congratulations. I avoided chihuahuas. too, because I’m unfamiliar with them and mostly because of their size. Reggie is a mix and whatever is mixed in with chihuahua gives him some sturdiness. I hope he doesn’t have tender pads because he’ll be walking all sorts of terrain. He does love to go for walks!
If Reggie does have tender pads short distances on all types of surfaces will strengthen them. But I know you know this, Sue. Just be careful of basalt (Flagstaff area) and weathered granite and asphalt in the summer.
All good advice, wildflower. We’re taking two walks a day on the campground loops which are paved, but not with that black macadam that is murder on paws. A walk in the morning after a cool night and a walk after the sun goes down…. Our desert walks with be short to begin with… Reggie trots right along. He LOVES walks.
Ahh, Reggie is a very handsome guy! You did good Sue! Keep his name . Now another life will be saved in his place. You guys will all have a blast traveling around and enjoying life on the road. Can’t wait to hear his story! I’m so excited for the 3 of you!
Thanks, Karen. I know Reggie is going to add a lot of laughter and fun to our travels and to this blog, too. I appreciate the feedback on his name.
Late to the party – comment #235, but YAY!!! So happy that you found your new family member.
There’s no such thing as being late to this party, Page. Thanks for joining us with a YAY!
Oh, I love him! What a lucky little boy to be going on the big adventure with you and Bridget. He truly is adorable! Happy tails!!
Already Reggie is inspiring love. Thank you for the happy wish, Shawna. I’m looking forward to more fun with the crew…
Congratulations! What an adorable new crew member! What an amazing journey his life will now take. He is loved not only by you and Bridget, but by all your Blogerinos! Welcome home, Reggie.
Thanks, Suzi… I feel like Reggie belongs to everyone… Bridget, too. You share their daily lives, their good times and troubles, their antics and attitudes, their sweetness and love.
So very happy for you, can’t wait to hear how he came to you and see his personality appear.
irene in B.C.
Thanks, Irene… (Love your name — It’s my mother’s.) I’ve seem a little of Reggie’s personality appear. He has some funny body language I’d love to capture in a photo… and I will!
Congrats on the new family member. I’m sure he doesn’t realize it yet, but he will soon enough figure out that he has won the doggie lottery.
Yes indeed!
Thanks, Bob. I hope to give Reggie a long and happy life with lots of fun, interesting shrubs to sniff, trails to explore, fellow canine campers to meet, good food, sweet dreams. . . .
Sooooooo excited and happy for you all….a beautiful family! Hugs –
Thank you, JoAnne. Glad to see you here!
What a lucky puppy! Not only does he get a great mom and awesome sister… but, he gets to live a life of adventure and fresh surroundings always just around the corner and down the road. Also, Reggie is a great name… Reginald… Reg… it’s a great name. {{{{{hugs}}}}} Bodhi
Thanks for those hugs, Bodhi, for the comment on me and Bridge, and for the thumbs up on the name, Reggie. I should keep the name. I always call my dogs numerous silly names and lovey names anyway…
Bet you and Bridget are both glad the search is over. Congratulations on having an 8 footed crew again! Reggie is simply darling. Maybe Bridget can give the spotlight she doesn’t like to him.
Hi, Sherry… Thanks for the congrats! I’m pleased that you like Reggie. I took a photo today that I think is a riot. . . . Reggie is looking straight into the camera with Bridget next to him with a stinky face. It’s going to be interesting to see how these two live together.
Fantastic news. Congratulations. He looks so adorable, I just want to grab him and hug him.
Thanks, Contessa…. One thing for sure about Reggie … He does like to be cuddled!
Lucky Reggie!!!
You know, with dogs, a new home is so different from what he knows that if you want a different name, now is the time to change it. It would be a lot more confusing for him to change it later after he got used to you saying Reggie. Anything new to a dog makes everything new so name him now.
You’re right, tesaje… Trouble is, I don’t know what other name I’d call him.
Since he does not go outside without being on a leash, I haven’t had to call him anything. He probably would adjust to the name change better than the blogorinos! Seems like a lot of folks like Reggie…
OH Sue, that just made me cry happy tears for you. I remember when I got Tony from the shelter in Pahrump. It just felt so right and so much like “it was meant to be”. He is just darling. Someday maybe we will see you on the road and he and Tony will get to play. HUGS Cheri and Tony
Hi, Cheri… Aww… happy tears…. Thanks for the hugs. I’m glad you found your Tony.
Eeeee! Congrats Sue that’s so exciting! He’s a real cutie, I’m glad Bridget and him get along well and hope you all have many, many happy years together.
Oh, and for what it’s worth, I think Reggie is a fine name. I had a cat named Reggie growing up. 🙂
Thanks, BeckyIO…. Yes, it is a relief that Bridget and Reggie get along. Can’t have dissension in the canine crew! I appreciate your vote on Reggie’s name.
Aw, he’s so cute. And so lucky to get you!
And we’re lucky to have him! Thank you, Linda.
This post has got to be the best to bring the most comments ever. Reggie is a very handsome dog. Can’t say much more that hasn’t been said. Except, Reggie and Bridget both sound like British names, perhaps your new tag should be RV Sue and the British crew.
That’s true, Gene! I hadn’t thought of that. We already know that Miss Bridget, aka HRH, is royalty… Thanks for being a part of Reggie’s welcoming party.
WOW your blog has exploded once again! Can you feel the love?
Well how did ya’ll sleep? Have a great day RVSue and Crew!
All the love and warmth being sent here is sure to melt some snow!! 🙂
Sue, Bridget and Reggie lucked out finding each other….and so did we, being able to share in the joy! I just love a happy ending…or beginning!! 🙂
Hi, Cinandjules… We had a good night! I was able to sleep quite well with a dog on my neck. Haha!
Yes, I feel the love and it is divine.
He’s darling, Sue! 🙂 I’m so happy for you and Bridget!
Thanks for sharing our happiness, mockturtle.
Hi Sue,
So very happy that you have found your little boy to add to your family! He looks beautiful or maybe I should say handsome! I think all of the blogorinos are thrilled for you and Bridget.
This outpouring of congratulations and welcome for this precious guy curled up beside me is heartwarming. I wish all dogs could be loved this much. Thanks, Patricia.
Yea Sue and Bridget, now the family is complete. What a sweet boy, love the spots and it is nice that his big sister is accepting him like she knows he’s here to stay. The name ah, well you can figure out if that is what you want his name to be or go with something else. Just doesn’t look like a Reggie to me, but hey, that’s just my take. So very happy the long search is over, get some rest then tell us everything. He looks like he is still something of a pup. You and Bridget and the little guy are going to make so many happy memories. Hugs to you all,
JazzLover
Hi, JazzLover…. Thank you. Yes, Reggie has a lot of pup in him yet. His age is an estimation, of course, since he was a stray. As for the name…. some love it and others, not so much. I’ll see how it goes for a few days. Give myself time to accept it…
When I adopted Bucky he was two years old and already named. Not crazy about the name but he was used to it so I didn’t change it. I think Reggie is a cute name.
Sue,
Hard to explain but I just had the feeling yesterday that the long hard search was coming to fruition. I kept checking throughout the afternoon for an update and every time I said a little prayer, first for your safe travels in big city traffic and than with the conviction that you had found “The One.” I can’t tell you how happy I am for all of you. I know how hard the past few months have been for you but it was all worth it in the end. Let the love flow all over you and just soak it in. You deserve it.
Bridge,
Congrats on the new baby brother. Yes, I know he stepped on your head last night and may be the focus of Mom’s attention the next few days. But look on the bright he will also be the focus of that damn camera as well. Plus you now get to train him in the art ofhow to get your human to bend to your every whim. I have no doubt that with your love and guidance he will become the best brother ever!
Reg my boy,
You may not fully realize it yet but you my friend have just landed in puppy paradise. You have a Mom who will (and has already) go to the ends of the earth to take care of you and love you. You have a sister who will teach you all you need to know, listen to her she is wise beyond words. And while it may seem strange you are already a rock star! and loved by thousands. The rest of your life is going to be incredible, welcome to the crew.
LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!!!!!
Funny and beautiful and so very BadgerRick. Thank you. You do know how to touch one’s heart.
That was sweet BadgerRick.
Welcome Home Reggie! You are the perfect little guy for the newest crew member! Much Love and Kisses to All! Take Care Sue and Crew!
Thanks, Diane. Reggie is perfect, isn’t he…
And Bridget is being so tolerant and agreeable. The only time she has shown him her teeth is when he tried to butt in on her special, after-breakfast hug time. Bridget is in the habit of leaning up against me, immediately after eating her home-cooked breakfast, so I can hug her while I look at the blog. I’ve decided to make sure that routine continues… That’s Bridget’s time.
Congrats on the newest furry member of your family! So glad Bridget took to him – she sometimes makes it clear when she doesn’t like another fur member according to your pictures lol. I am sure the three of you will be very happy together!
I can’t say that Bridget is absolutely thrilled with Reggie’s presence. She’s being her gracious self and being nice to him… as long as he follows the house rules.
LOL. Sounds kinda like the human world.
Sue.
Wonderful. What a cutie! Woo hoo
Hi, KentW… Thanks for the happy cheer!
Hi to the 3 of you. I am so glad you all found each other. Lucky Reggie and lucky to Bridget and you. Love ya all.
Thanks for the sweet message to we three, Marieta.
Yayyyyy! So happy for y’all!
Thank you, FLKamper…. Yayyyy for the canine crew!
So very happy for you RV Sue and Bridget!
Thanks, Rob and Juley!
Congrats on finding your new crew member! He’s very handsome.
Thank you, Phyllis. Reggie is a good-looking guy, for sure. 🙂
Congratulations to all 3 of you! Reggie my man, you have hit the lotto! You are going to have so much fun with Sue and Bridgette, you’re going to see the world! Well. All of the world that is important to a guy like you. Enjoy it. Can’t wait to see your new adventures!
“Reggie my man”…. 🙂 Thanks for the congratulations, Dawn.
Just noticed the pink nose. HOW CUTE!!! Love it!
Yay! Welcome Reggie to the Crew. He looks like a very sweet boy 🙂
Reggie is very sweet. He’s trying very hard to be a good boy. Thanks for the welcome, Marcia.
Congratulations on finding your new family member. He is adorable. I love the name Reggie. Wishing you and the crew many happy travels together. He has no idea how wonderful his new life will be.
Another vote for the name, Reggie! Hi, Karen… Thank you for the good wish and congratulations.
Once again RV Sue and Canine Crew….so happy for you.. It has been a LONG road, but good rewards huh? Love to all 3 of you today and many, many days to come.
Hi, Shirlene…. Yes, it has been a long road from sadness to this happy day. I hope you are enjoying family time in Boise! Thanks for the love…
Late to the party for Reggie! But none the less, I am thrilled you found your perfect crew member! He is darling for sure. Bridge can show him the ropes and I’m betting before too long he will know the routine!
Congrats to everyone – Sue, Bridge, and especially Reggie!
Thanks, susan…. He’s picking up our routine very quickly. Of course, our days aren’t very complicated!
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! 🙂
He is so cute!
Congratulations! 🙂
Reggie definitely rates high on the cuteness meter. Thanks, Bob.
CONGRADS.. oh my he is so cute.. just love him to bits all ready. So glad that Brigitte took to him right away, sounds like a beautiful friendship starting all ready.. It is good to see the crew, and I know Spike would be happy. Enjoy and can’t wait to hear everyday how this new crew adventure goes. His colouring is amazing, and I like the name Reg.. suits him .:)
Hi, Dancer… Thank you. I like Reggie’s colors, too. His white face is easy to photograph. The big eyes help, too. The only “problem” is he moves so fast! At least he doesn’t seem to mind the lens pointed at him…
Can’t wait to see photo’s of the new crew together and to learn what his favorite activities are and his least not, and to watch how the relationship grows between the three. 🙂
So much fun!
So much love!
They give us so much and ask for so little.
He’s beautiful!
Thank you, Dedra… Wow! Look at all the love Reggie is getting!
I don’t think it is just love for Reggie, but sheer happiness for you and Bridget. You have shared so much with us blogorinos, it is time for us to come out of the woodwork and share our happiness with you on this milestone event.
Julian
Nice of you, Julian.
Welcome home, Reggie!
Hi, Pam…. Nice of you to add your welcome to Reggie… Thank you.
Oh my goodness. We just went past 400 comments!!!!
Reggie, your famous………………and very, very, loved.
Right now Reggie is in the pen with Bridget with his eyes fixed on the open door of the BLT! I’m going to have to get out there soon… Oh, the demands of kids!
Your post didn’t hit my email until this morning, and I had to open and read it right away! I even read all the comments, sharing in the love and happiness of all your blogorino followers. I am so happy for you and Bridget!!! Tears of sadness for Spike when he passed, but now tears of joy over the new addition to your family. He’s such a cute little thing! I know this is the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in the lives of RVSue and her crew, complete once again.
Hi, Cari…. Thank you for being a part of this group of good people, sharing the tough times and the fun times, and being so supportive of me and my crew. I see wondrous days ahead and I’m glad you’ll be with us!
So glad to be going along with you on your journeys! I am playing catch-up again on reading your entries, but I saw this one and had to open it immediately. Life is full of ups and downs, and it always seems to go a bit smoother with friends along to share everything. Thank you for including us in your life!
You’re welcome. 🙂
Congratulations Sue and Bridget. Reggie has found the perfect family. Sue, even though your blog is written, I sense a change in your mood which comes through in your words, and comment responses. I sense your spirits have been lifted, as if a great weight has been taken from your shoulders, because a part of your quest has been achieved, and you are ready to begin new chapters in your book of travels and adventures. It is also great that the title you chose for this blog entry is “WE found him”, because it is so obvious in your writing that this was a joint, team, decision. I am so happy for you and Bridge, and welcome to you Reggie. Julian.
Hi, Julian…. You noticed the “we”…. 🙂
Yes, Bridget was in on the decision from start to finish. I’m sure my tone is lighter now that Reggie has been found. As you know, I don’t like populated areas and I could see the search would have to go to cities… Thank you for the congratulations and the welcome for Reggie.
WELCOME ABOARD Reggie, may you, Sue and Bridget share many wondrous adventures together and God Blesses you all each and everyday.
Respectfully,
Steve Kaeseman, SK1(SW), USN, Ret.
Thank you, Steve. God has blessed me with this community of compassionate people and with loving canine companions in my home. I look forward to exciting times ahead!
Hey Steve, from commander retired+ CTMC Ret!
Hi, Steve, from one sailor to another. LTJG, USNR, Retired. Thank you for your service!
Hello Reggie! Glad to see you finally made it to the RIGHT home! What a cutie!
Thanks, Susan. I brought the crew inside from their fresh-air time in the pen. Both Bridget and Reggie are settling in for afternoon nap. Yes, this is right. 🙂
Tell Reg he ‘s a celebrity BIG TIME! What a handsome guy. In my opinion the name is perfect. Really happy for you and Bridget.
WTXCal
Hi, WTXCal…. Reggie is a very popular fellow! Thanks for sharing our happiness and for voting for his name.
Congratulations! You’re all very lucky to have found each other!
I’m sure you’ll have a blast getting to know Reggie and watching his personality blossom.
It is going to be fun getting to know this little guy and sharing him with you. He’s a joy to photograph! Thanks for the congratulations, Anne.
I have been a long time devotee to Missy Sue’s blog and only occasionally have to ask you to do something for me. Fix my misspelling, my grammar, etc. but you ARE a teacher, right? But now, I am asking one more thing of you. I can’t for the life of me think of a more fitting name for our new little guy than Reggie. Please don’t mess with success. I did say please….Once again I cannot say how pleased both Detta and I are that your quest to fill that empty place is once again whole.
Jim…
Since you asked, Reggie will keep his name! Thanks to you and Detta for caring about me and my crew. Missy
Hug for our Missy.
HOLY MOLY! 463 (not including mine) messages flying back and forth! Reggie must be feeling the love!!!!

Thanks, Rusty. I’m convinced that Reggie is going to make a great co-pilot. You know how important that is… 🙂
I love his spots!
Looks like your patience paid off. 🙂
As a former silent follower, I just had to comment on your handsome new addition to your crew.
Really Rainey
I’m delighted to see you here, Really Rainey! I hope you will appear here again. 🙂 Thank you for agreeing with my choice… Reggie is wonderful and he has spots!
Congratulations! First time posting, although I have been following your adventures for a few months and really enjoy your writing. I was hoping you would find a new crew member, so have kept checking your blog every day ;). And when I saw the picture of Reggie, he looked exactly right! Happy trails.
Thank you, Hilo. I’m very glad you are with us. Welcome!
Hi Sue,
Congratulations on your handsome new crew member, looks like a great fit to the family.
You sure must have had a full day of activity yesterday. Can’t wait to hear about it.
I also wanted to say thanks to all for the cold remedy information and especially ED for the blog link he provided.
Have a great evening with the kids
Mike
The readers of this blog are always willing to offer help and advice. Whenever you have a question, don’t hesitate to ask.
Thanks for the congratulations. You have a great evening, too!
What a marvelous day! It is our 1st day back to viewing and reading about Sue and Bridget after a long absence with health issues. We are so excited to get back to reading and seeing our Blogging “Family”.
We feel very lucky to return on such a Happy Occasion – Meeting your new Crew Member Reggie. He looks very cute and Bridget looks like she will be a great big sister. We are very glad for YOU.
We are going back to Jan 21 to start catching up to March 8; you and your faithful readers have been very busy and we are settling in for a week of reading and viewing non-stop. LOL.
Sue, we are happy for you and for us to continue the journey.
Deena, Miss Mollie and Hubby
Thank you, Deena, Miss Mollie and Hubby…. You have returned at a very good time. I’m happy you are back!
Bridget is already showing signs of being a wonderful big sister and fellow crew member to Reggie. It’s a delight to see their relationship develop.
Happy reading!
Gotta chime in with my congrats, too. What a cutie you’ve found! I’m so happy that the family is now complete. Together, may you have many fun-filled days of adventure on the road. Looking forward to reading about the continuing saga of RVSue and her Canine Crew. The entertainment value in your life must have skyrocketed in the past twenty four hours–and I don’t mean just your blog!
Audrey
Thanks, Audrey…. Oh yes, I’ve been busy today, entertained and having fun!
Going into town to get some dog toys!!!
Oh my, I can already see the look of disdain on HRH’s face.
“We are NOT amused” 🙂
This is gonna be FUN!
Now get off your computer and go love up your boy. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
I think a celebratory rotisserie chicken!
I like how you think girl.
🙂
Looks like you have a keeper. Just the right size for a small camper….and looks like he’s been accepted by the boss. Love it when someone takes a rescue. I’ve never bought a dog…always had one someone else couldn’t keep or found as a stray.
Good for you, providing a home for ones who need it. Yes, Reggie is a good size. At first I thought he was too small. Then I considered how ruggedly he is built on sturdy legs and thought, “hey, lightweight, doesn’t take up much room in the bed . . . .” Thanks for joining this welcoming party, Carol.
Happy, happy, happy, can you hear the tapping Sue…….that’s your bloggorian doing a “happy dance” in finding Reggie to complete your crew!! He is adorable and a perfect fit.
Thanks, Merle… Reggie is perfect for us!
Seen in your reply to Diane -“…her special after breakfast hug time…I’ve decided to make sure that continues…That’s Bridget’s time.” A loving and wise answer of a great Mom, Sue,that puts the all in “and they all lived happily after” of this page 🙂
For some reason reading “they all lived happily after” put a choke in my throat. I’m so very happy to have this tender guy in our home and to know there are many folks loving him as I do. Thank you, weather. Bridget will not be overlooked, even though it may seem so as I share Reggie on my blog.
Oh Sue, I’m in tears of joy for you. I almost never comment but I have followed your blog since the beginning. I’ve worried about you finding another family member. I even looked at one yesterday, took a picture, and considered letting you know about him as a possibility. (Of course you would have needed to drive to the east side of LA and I figured that probably wasn’t in your plans. haha) Anyway, I am thrilled for you, Bridget, and especially, Reggie. He doesn’t even know yet what adventures are in store for him. Blessing to you all.
Hi, PJ… Already Reggie is bringing people to comment here. Great to hear from you! Thank you for caring about my search for a new pup and for sending a blessing our way.
HE is so cute!! Happy Dance!
🙂
Congratulations, Sue!
Reggie is a DOLL! I love him already! I have always been partial to spotted dogs in general (don’t see them every day!) and terriers in particular. Love his buttery color!
So glad you found him. I still can’t believe the amount of looking you had to do and the hoops you had to jump through along the way. I smell $$ in the mix when things are so difficult. They shouldn’t be!!
Best wishes,
Anne
Thank you, Anne. You understand my attraction to Reggie. I guess rescues want to make it difficult to weed out the irresponsible people who get a dog for a plaything without any commitment for the long-term. It was a pain though, especially since I don’t have a home base and had to find places to camp. Oh well, that’s behind us… It’s all good now.
Did you mention your blog to Joe?
It takes a certain type of person to foster animals. Thank you to Joe and all the others who open their hearts and homes to the fur kids in transition.
The feller who has bounced around and now has cancer makes me sad. For Joe, to make his remaining time… the best he can…is truly comforting.
Thank you Joe!
Yes, I did tell Joe and also the people of Adopt a Rescue Pet. I hope Joe comments here. He’s a very compassionate person. He made sure I knew everything about Reggie’s favorite things and that I took safety precautions, and so forth. Reggie slept in Joe’s bed.
Reggie’s a cutie. He will be a great companion to you and Bridget.
You’re right, Linda. He is made to be a traveling man!
I’m so happy for you. Your family is now complete. Can’t wait to see more pictures as the adventures continue!
Hi, Captain K. Thank you. I have a new post almost complete and will publish it soon.
So very happy for you Sue and Bridget, and now Reggie. I am sure Spike is on the other side of that bridge, wagging his tail. (Although he might be under that bridge getting a good soak…regardless, he is sure to be happy for you all.) –Dave (GoingRvWay.com)
Congratulations! I know you’ve been searching quite a while. I’m glad you found the perfect addition to The Crew.
Looks like you’ve found an awesome addition to your crew! Best wishes to all.
Just had to say congrats on finding him, he is a precious boy, and so lucky to have you and Bridgette.
Reggie is adoreable and so is Bridget!! Looking forward to seeing more posts of yours and the canine crew!! Safe travels!!
Thanks for the compliment on my crew, Sandy, and for the wish for our safety.
My first comment, and I simply had to, even though this is an old post.
I have been reading your blog for a few weeks, beginning at the beginning. I already knew about Spike from reading your home page, and as I knew we were reaching the end of his story I grew more and more tense. But life goes on…
But waiting for Reggie was worse!
And now–he’s here, and I am so happy. I have a little rescue dog, myself. She’s a chihuahua, and I could tell from Reggie’s picture that he was going to be perfect. I hope that is true.
Thank you for your wonderful blog.
You’re welcome,P.A. Thank you for sharing our happiness with Reggie. He’s been a crew member for more than a year as I write this and, yes, he’s perfect.
You are now a blogorino! 🙂
