Problem posting

I regret that I am unable to post today’s entry.  Again all was lost when I tried to publish.  It is extremely frustrating to work for almost two hours for nothing.  I’ve tried using different browsers.  Tomorrow I will rid my computer of unnecessary files and cookies in hopes of cleaning it up.  Maybe that will help.  I really wanted to show you some photos today.  Oh well . , .   worse things could happen.  Thank you for checking in here.

Now this little notice will print, but not my entry for the day!

Nothing more frustrating. Can you compose on a word document first? Then just cut and paste? No danger about losing your posts to cyberspace.

I was going to ask the same thing. My blog is in blogger so I don’t know about wordpress but I had the same problem for a while and used word pictures and all so I didn’t lose anything., Then I switched to Livewriter and things are much better. I know the frustration….2 hours and then boom it’s gone. Hope things will be better tomorrow. Pets to the crew!

Sue, I am so sorry! I, along with everyone else, have really been looking forward your daily blog posting. I cannot imagine what the problem is… I know you tried different browsers. Opera is a pretty good browser too. You might try re-installing the browser that you were using when you were able to use WordPress successfully before. I wonder if there might be some help available through WordPress.

  6. Bummer.. was looking forward to your blog tonight!

Don’t know how Word Press works, but I know on Blogger I save first.. and on LiveWriter you have to go into the settings to change it to autosave… because by default it doesn’t automatically save. Hope you figure out what to do on Word Press! We miss your posts!~

Penny, thank you for the BlogDesk suggestion! I’m going to have to check that out too!

WordPress causes everyone I know that uses it problems.. IMHO quit using it and go with Google Blogger. IF I even have a problem posting , no worries cause it did an automatic back up just a couple of mintues ago. Can always got back to it and post it up.

I’ve had a few times, even with blogspot, where my draft/posting disappeared. The signal appeared to me to be strong enough and during transmission, for publishing, the signal weakened or disappeared unbeknownst to me during the transmission process and would then reappear – and they were long entries also. Would lose the draft too. Someone suggested that is what might be happening -fading in and out; so, now when traveling, I try and keep the entries short, unless I know for sure that I have a dependable signal. May not be your problem, but I’ll pass it along as it was passed along to me.

My suggestion has already been suggested. Write it first in Word, save and then copy and paste.

  12. cathieok says:

That is so frustrating! You have gotten some good suggestions to help you out. They are all purely selfish, as we all want every word of your blogs to come through! 🙂

  13. Reine says:

The suggestions of folks are good. My first thought was to compose in Word and then copy and paste. Another thought. If you’re using a wireless mouse, be sure to check the battery in the mouse. My wireless mouse was behaving erratically and I realized that the battery was dead. Replacing it with a new one made a huge difference. As cathieok said, we’re selfish and like our RVSue fix each day.

Sue, I have been doing some investigating online and I found that WordPress is supposed to be one of the best! I’m using it and don’t have any trouble with it. I did download BlogDesk as Penny suggested. I love it! I just downloaded it from the link that she provided. I confess that I did get sidetracked with the MicroSoft Live program. After installing it and then deleting it, I installed BlogDesk. It is straightforward and very easy. You can check my blog and see my first post using it. That is what I am going to be using from now on!

I use Livewriter and Google blogger so I’m not much help. But that blog desk sounds like it works just like livewriter and would be perfect. At least it would save your blog and all your work. Good luck and look forward to your next post.

WHEW – All caught up. LOVE your Blog. Had to go back to the beginning and read every post and (almost) all the comments.
I could relate to so much – especially the stabilizer jacks – I wasn’t as fortunate. I ruined mine ! And that was within the first month on the road. Expensive lesson.
RV’ers are definitely the best people around. Always so understanding and helpful.
p.s. I also use Live Writer to write my Blogs and then click Publish when finished. That way I can write them offline and they don’t disappear into cyberspace.

  19. rvsueandcrew says:

    Hi, everyone!

Thanks to all for excellent comments! First off, I do write offline and then cut and paste. I’m having problems with my computer . .. very slow…. timing out…. and dropped connections. Loading photos takes an awfully long time and they must be loaded directly into wordpress. I tried to make a slideshow yesterday and it took two hours, then worpress dropped it. WordPress supposedly saves automatically every few minutes or so. This has been great in the past. Now when I try to retrieve an automatic save, it comes up blank! I will try to download Live Writer or BlogDesk . .. . which may take years . .. .
